What's weird is how many people are impressed by it. His kind of football is the easiest way of playing there is. Put ten men behind the ball. Most of the bottom clubs do it, it's just that most clubs, especially among those with an unlimited budget, don't accept that style.
The Mourinho Defenders Spam Folder

The cuts to John Cross are painful to watch. He has lately been one of the biggest rimmers of Mourinho. Bit rich that he's supposedly an Arsenal fan.
I love how prepared that rant was - must've been planning that for some time. Well researched, well delivered.
He has fallen out with the press in every country but England. And now the tide is starting to turn here too. Once that happens, he's off. He desperately needs his minions like John Cross that tolerate (and praise) his bullshit. They're the ones that have the power to turn his hissy fits into genius mindgames. Without them he's just a nasty, bitter little shit.
Actually, what turns his hissy fits into genius mind games are the results he gets and the trophies he wins.
It's the unlimited chequebook that does that legwork.
Its easy to see too why journos like 'Crossy' act like do they towards him. Mourinho is much closer to their intellectual level than, say Van Gaal or Wenger, and probably acts all chummy with them (this is so called being 'charismatic'). Cross and many others probably get the feeling of being part of the 'lads' and sharing the 'banter' instead of actually analyzing and asking the hard questions from him.
Imagine, if Wenger had gone on Goals on Sunday and claimed that there is a campaign against Arsenal? He would have been ripped to shreds.
Cross has been exactly like that with Wenger for years. Journalists just have to be sycophants to keep the ear of the powerful.
It's seriously all about the results his teams get. That's why he gets away (more or less) with saying whatever the hell he wants.
I think I'll feel sorry for him the day he stops winning because literally everyone will turn against him.

Thats exactly right Ludo, in the whole football world (except the Arsenal boardroom) results are all that matter, everybody revered Ferguson and everyone revered Wenger (including me) when they were successful- Thats the whole reason for their being in charge of big football clubs.

Sports journalists are not proper journalists anyway. Most of them are fanboys who want to be close to the stars. Just look at all the cycling journalists licking Armstrong's arse for all those years and refusing to ask any difficult questions (with the exception of David Walsh).
Its the same in any field, if you go hard on certain politicians you're branded a stooge for the other side etc....

“That’s why every single staff of Chelsea hate Chelsea fans. "
Love it.
Was so tempted to laugh at Chelsea thread just for this. Sewer club it's turning into.

Definitely not, with a few honourable exceptions for the handful that get to write proper features.
Was Fabregas actually getting jeered?
Yes
Same as that other prick van Persie who Utd fans have turned on too, was it worth it fellas?
So hated by Arsenal fans, disliked by Barca fans and looks like Chelsea fans are prepared to make him their scapegoat. He can't be happy with how his career has panned out, relative to his talent of course.
Ricky1985 wrote:He just doesn't have players as good as those that he used to have. That's the thing, so much is made of the manager, and, don't get me wrong, he's plenty important, but good players, especially in the spinal positions, is what decides football matches.
This, this and this. So many people talk about football like as if the manager has a control pad on the sidelines and he's controlling the game. It's ridiculous. I blame this mode of thinking on Fifa and Football Manager.
When we had money to spend and could buy top players, we won trophies.
When we had no money to spend and couldn't buy top players, we didn't win trophies.
We now have money to spend again on top players, and guess what, we are winning trophies again.
Yet, the fan base would have you believe that it was Wenger that changed, that his tactics are now shite, or whatever.
Sour classless cunt, and no I'm not talking about Mourinho.
Biggus you're defending Mourinho by calling Wenger a "sour, classless, c***"?
Merely pointing out that Mourinho isn't the only sour classless cunt in charge of a football club.
But at least he's not a specialist in failure.
That's a "yes" then.
