This, this and this. So many people talk about football like as if the manager has a control pad on the sidelines and he's controlling the game. It's ridiculous. I blame this mode of thinking on Fifa and Football Manager.
When we had money to spend and could buy top players, we won trophies.
When we had no money to spend and couldn't buy top players, we didn't win trophies.
We now have money to spend again on top players, and guess what, we are winning trophies again.
Yet, the fan base would have you believe that it was Wenger that changed, that his tactics are now shite, or whatever.
