This is the weirdest reporting I have ever seen. It says that Barca are going to beat us to Schneiderlin, which can only happen in 2017 because they have a 3 transfer window ban. Then it says we are going to spend 80m pounds on Pogba which might be his final price, but beyond belief for Arsenal even with the new TV money. Pogba will be a battle for Madrid, PSG, City and United to consider.

The Express isn't even good enough for houseboat.

Pogba is over-rated and over-priced. Let's see him do well beyond Serie A. Yet to see him perform in CL. He's not a DM so not what we need in midfield.

Horseshit 'journalism' of course but I'm pretty sure Barcelona have only two windows banned, last January and next summer. Schneiderlin isn't what Barcelona need anyway, not good enough on the ball.

That said I'd pay 150m for Pogba, best player to watch after Messi.

In which universe is Pogba not good enough for us?!

-----Schneiderlin
---Ramsey-----Pogba
--------Özil

How freaking sexy is that?!

He is a number 10 there though in a diamond midfield...

Pogba is brilliant. Would be the perfect central midfielder next to Ramsey and in front of a DM (maybe Coquelin). However, we have zero chance of signing him. Zero!

Barcelona or Real, PSG with an outside chance if they go full retard. No other team has a chance I reckon.

i'd be ecstatic if our only signing this summer is pogba. forget defensive midfield, coq will do just fine with pogba and ramsey in front of him. mouthwatering.

I'd be happy if Pogba were to be our only signing in the summer. Spend whatever it takes. We need world class now not numbers.

As good as Pogba is, and I think he has absolutely outstanding ability, wouldn't it worry anyone paying a massive sum for him given that he has hardly played any of his career to date in the centre midfielder role he'd be tasked with playing here?

I mean I watched him last night and he was playing as basically a left sided midfielder, he was class for the most part, but he certainly didn't have to do a lot of the work you associate with a centre midfielder. And when I watched him last season, when Juve were playing three at the back, he's was even wider. I doubt a player of his quality would find it hard to learn the role, but he definitely still has a ton to learn. From a tactical standpoint, he's still completely wet behind the ears in a central midfield role.

Our new formation is a lot less demanding on the 2 centre mids from a tactical standpoint. His general attributes take care of the rest.

I'd use 80M elsewhere than a young, overhyped, highlight player. I agree with Ricky, he is still far too raw, and has no clue how to control the midfield as his skillset is more suited for a CAM/wing, and his passing is pretty average.

He could work in a midfield of 3, as he does for Juve, but doubt he could work in a midfield-2. We'd need another midfielder who can control the tempo of the game as neither Pogba or Ramsey are particularly good at that, assuming we continue with the 433/4141.
