Probably also very badly done stat, with double counting and uninvolved goals.
Yeah that stat seems a bit off, so when they play together they average 3 goals between the two of them per 90 minutes?
Or what does " contributing 51 goals" mean? Does it include assists, still seems very high to me. Weird wording for a "stat".
Yeah. Özil has, what, a handful of goals and 22-25 assists since he joined? Walcott has scored like 16 goals in the last 2.5 years too. And most of the time they haven't been on the pitch at the same time due to overlapping long-term injuries.
Whoever came up with that stat probably double counted, like banduan suggests. If Walcott scores and Özil assists him they count it as both Walcott and Özil contributing to a goal, because they're tracing the player stats individually. So the players end up contributing to two goals together in a game where we only scored one.
