I have never agreed with how Turkey has been able to blackmail the whole of Europe for so long from acknowledging this genocide.
If it wasn't genocide, why not rebut the allegations with facts?
Don't they see how ridiculous North Korea looks?

Who cares about what Erdogan and his fascist government does or thinks? The most embarrassing thing here is that it took decades for Germany to acknowledge the genocide even though German Nazi officials were involved in it; and even worse the only reason they do so now is because of xenophobic movements within the political landscape. Similar to the German genocide in Namibia where it took the German government more than half a century to acknowledge its own crimes

I'm a bit surprised Germany has not previously acknowledged it; I remember Turkey's failure to admit the Armenian genocide was cited as an important reason not to let Turkey join the EU in the early years of this century—IIRC Belgium was the nation raising that at the time?

Eh? This happened in 1915.

Was a bit drunk yesterday sorry. They weren't Nazi officials of course but only "normal" German military figures involved in the deportation of Armenians with the reasoning the latter would collaborate with their common enemy the Russian Empire.
