My aspiration would be for the primaries and the campaign to bring some of the central contradictions of US democracy to the fore.
I'm not sure which set of circumstances or which candidate is most likely to lead to that happening, perhaps Cruz though.
Trump's such a hyperreal candidate I don't think the public really thinks of what he says as being connected to reality—that's a problem in itself because it means his campaign seems to be vacuous, when there is underneath it all a set of ideas and aspirations he would try to implement if in power.
