Its a situation that benefits both Australia Asian teams and even NZ, obviously its not good Australia whipping everyone in Oceania and then falling to a strong European or Sth American team in the finals.
Similarly east Asian teams like Japan and Korea love the practice against "a more physical European type" team which the usually fall afoul of in the finals.
NZ avoids the Australian behemoth and has qualified for the finals.
The only ones who dislike this arrangement are the Arab states who have suffered because of Australias power and want them kicked out but fuck them they're terrorists.
