Sol Campbell is probably the most underrated English defender of my lifetime. I'd give him a go as a coach no problem. I wouldn't see him going above that level because I don't think he has the temperament for it but I've no doubt he could teach the likes of Holding, Chambers, etc a few things to improve them as players.
Jesus, no. It's important to separate the player from the person. You can like him as a footballer but thata it. Sanchez is the same person now he was a year ago. Sol was here when the going was good otherwise he would have left earlier. He didn't cope well when the pressure came on. At least Gallas only gave up in the second half.
He done his badges and sat on his ass for years. Expecting someone to give him a job at the top level. Pep, henry, Dennis all went straight into coaching a youth side to get that experiance. And then you work up from there. He's willing to drop down now but hes been on his arse for god only knows how many years.
Then decided to go straight into politics as mayor of London? He's a footballer he's never had a job in his life never mind a political one and he wants to be mayor.
He's the type of person I hate.
I don't want what him anywhere near the club. You look at henry, mert and Arteta and they come across as better balanced individuals they're straight into coaching and it's why they'll get ahead.
Sol played the race card saying he only didn't captain england more because he was black. His teammates said he just poped headphones on and liked to be in the zone not talking to anyone. Terry was a mint captain and Rio got the armband to. It doesn't really make any sense. He tried it again about management but he didn't put the work in first. You get to the top by working harder than everyone else. If your roads a bit harder you get on with it and hope that the path you carve on your journey makes the next guys a little easier. He can make that point after he proves a point. He's like the women sky news spoke to about immigrants. She wanted them out because they were stealing her jobs. They asked her want jobs shed applied to and she say she hadn't applied for any but if she did she felt like that's what would happen.
To not take a step on that journey and complain. He's not a manager. And he played with plenty of shit defenders without making them mint. Pele can't make more Pele's, maradona can't make more maradonas. Campbell can't make more Campbell's just because he was a good defender.
