Interesting Henry interview with Rio Ferdinand . Around 17h min he admits he left Arsenal to join Barca in the summer of 2007 on LESS money beside he wanted to compete.

How much of that I can believe I’m not sure v him going to win trophies/CL.

He was suppose to join in 2006. I think that CL final and the way it panned out in the heat of the moment he changed his mind. I remember Johan Cruyff talking about this, saying he made the wrong choice.

A year later and things have changed. 06/07 he has come off that legendary performance at the Bernabau and scored 27 goals in 32 games, next season Henry's spent a lot of the season injured and his market value has gone down. Probably can't command the same salary....

Henry leaving to Barcelona was probably one of the most traumatic experiences I had as a teenager but, in hindsight after 2006, Henry was only averaging around 12 goals a season. He managed to put one big season out in 2009 to win the treble but it was for the best that he moved on in 2007.

daredevil Both left just before falling off a cliff physically, both in their final seasons were showing signs of it so good for them to leave then and the fans remember the good times with them.

I think Vieira could have stayed on, he definitely would have not let things slide the way they did in 2006 in the league and also would have been the leader the players needed then. Henry seemed as though he was already halfway out once Vieira left.

The commentary on this goal with Andy Gray is much better. What a season he had in 01/02, after that knee injury never recovered his pace but that season was legit one of the best wide players this league has ever seen. He got injured in March and still won player of the year!

Then he came back the next season as we fumbled the title but scored a brilliant hatrick against Southampton to start (if I remember correctly) our 49 match unbeaten run in the second or third last game of 02/03.

Also scored against them in thr FA Cup final around that time.
