People seem to forget that about two seasons ago, United Lost Fergie, and brought in David Moyes. And they were out of the top four. Which top player in his right mind wants the uncertainty of all that shit under David Moyes?
Van Gaal has a much stronger profile as a manager and with them back in the Champion's League, United are essentially back in the saddle as one of the top teams in Europe (in terms of player attraction). And they have the financial muscle too.
I'm glad for our stability, and that we can finally compete with the top teams financially to an extent, but make no mistake about it, United are back in the reckoning.
