Liverpool need Sturridge back more than anything.

I don't have any sympathy for the team but do like him as a player. Shame he couldn't build on last season.

I think he'd succeed in Premier League on sheer workrate alone though. He's got an insane engine. The likes of Kuyt have made themselves a name by working like plow horses in the past, and Shaqiri is easily twice the player.

"His kind" would be a stark difference from the brotherhood of geniuses that currently constitutes our squad.

I think like Klaus says, his work rate alone is incredible, and he actually has some skill to complement his pace. Would have been a good addition, especially for a Jan Tran. Oh well. I'm guessing He'll have to thumb wrestle Podolski for a place in Inter's starting line up. My money's on Pod.

He's more Tevez than Cazorla though, short and stocky as opposed to short and pudgy. He'd be an acceptable manlet.

if schurrle played for arsenal and we'd be debating selling him, teams would offer us like £10m. why do teams bend over for chelsea?

Apparently City are getting 30m euro for Negredo, so it's not just Chelsea. It's anyone but Arsenal. Also, Schurrle is a WC winner with Germany and while not a regular starter, not a nobody either in that team.

Wolfsburg are quite loaded though, arent they? Besides, its €30m, not £30m, and he would probably be a big hit in Bundesiga again, so they areny exactly offering too much over the market value.

30 million euro is £24 mil for a meh player. Chelsea should bit their hand off and use that money to buy more kids to loan out and turn a profit on.

Different countries and circumstances. You could argue that we got Sanchez way too cheap too. Would he ever have gone for less than £45 million if United had signed Di Maria from Real before we finalised the deal with Barcelona? To our credit we were acting early in the transfer window for once, instead of allowing the market to price us out like we usually do.

Schürrle is better than Lallana for me, so I don't think a similar fee is outrageous at all.
