Positioning is very good. Knows when to close in for the tackle and when to fall off and cut out the passing lane.
And best of all, runs faster then a snail in slo mo.
Even his pointing and shouting game is better than Flamini's.
He's doing what is asked of him, this was his first big test and he's done very well. Liking the Coquelin-Santi pairing with Ramsey or Rosicky box to box. I'm still a bit wary after the similar praise Flamini got at the start of last season and now we're counting down the days until his 3 year contract ends. Obviously this guy has got some talent, let's see if he can be a consistent, reliable player for us until the end of the season. I have no idea how long Coquelin has on his contract but if it's more than a year I hope we hold off keeping him in our long term plans just yet.

Maybe we should be in for their first choice defensive mid if he was keeping Coq out of the team.

He definitely looks revved up and fully on board with the cause 🙂
Have to say his positioning and pressing has been top notch, always thought of him as a headless chicken. He's got decent composure on the ball too. He's at least good enough that we can wait until we actually find a world class defensive mid.

You love Coq?
Top class shouting, needs to work on his pointing to win the position for good.Â

I didn't follow him at Charlton, but I play 5-a-side with a supporter and he absolutely loved Coquelin there. What am I missing? Didn't he play all of the time?
Unlike Flamini he usually is where he needs to be. The next five months are huge for him, if he does well he can resurrect his career. Really hope he makes it.
Whenever I saw him live, albeit in the league cup, he always stood out for me.
Today he was simply outstanding.
So happy he is finally showing his true potential.
Keep it up son.
He looks like the guy again who used to boss shit up for our reserve team. Love him.
Contract expires in the summer
Ah. Tricky one. wonder what other options he'll have on the table.
Shouldn we have an offer on the table now? Is this gonna be like Flamini all over again.
Judging by the way he has played in the last few games there will be plenty of Premier League clubs offering him a deal. Free is a great price.
Coq won't get a better offer elsewhere. If he's the real deal he'll be offered a new deal and he'll sign.
Any deal that guarantees him playing time in Premier League and a decent salary will probably be better than what we can offer. The lack of opportunities in the last two years probably means he won't sign even if we double his wages.
He'll be here next season if the club wants him to be here.
