Probably hasn't had a bad game at all since he started playing for us, and that says alot. I am pretty convinced he is what we have been missing and needed.

He was impressive today, a few times done that cunt Fellaini as well which is always a plus. I'm really impressed with him in the air and he is surprisingly good under pressure.

Even when Fellaini often wins the first ball, Coquelin is so clever in his body shape and positioning he hardly lost any duel with him.

Any one we get now has to be a 'main' player - a world class player that goes straight into the first team. We don't need any squad fillers.

Another top defensive minded mid would allow us tactical flexibility. Especially in games like this where we need to go away and close out a lead.

Coquelin has been consistently good. Amazing how fine the margins are at the top level. He couldn't have imagined how bright his career prospects could look a few months ago.

This guy has completely fucked with my head this season. This kind of turn around seems almost illogical on this level. How can you be on the fringes, being loaned out to shit clubs in weaker leagues, not make an impact for seasons, end up on loan at Championship and then just turn up and claim a starting position at a top 4 club? Never, in a million years would any one of us predicted the emergence of Coq. He has now done it for what, 15? matches in a row and today was probably the most complete performance by him i have seen.

alot of these new school midfielders have talent but lack the mental application to really sieze an opportunity. coq recognised the big defensive gap in our midfield, and more than anything used his brain see the opportunity and sieze it. major kudos to him, this is the type of awarness i like to see in our players.

Tbf, Coquelin looked an absolute world beater for our reserves when he was 16/17 years old. Honestly, he used to rip midfields to pieces - too quick, too strong, too skillful at that age and level. I remember thinking back then that if he doesn't make it here then no one will. He completely lost his way, for whatever reason, but he's looking like a proper player for us now.

Agreed, Coquelin was one of the better prospects coming through the ranks. He had a few big performances in the Carling Cup against City and Spurs as well.

instead of spending £25m on someone like schneiderlin, id rather spend the big money on a world class CB and goalkeeper and sign a more mid-range option at DM.

Already giving up on Gabriel? Can't see us signing another CB especially since Kosc, Gabriel, Per, Chambers is good enough both number wise and if Gabriel proves to be the real deal quality wise. We need a DM definitely but with the emergence of Coq I'd say our biggest priority has to be a world class striker this summer.
