Finishing above United would be pretty nice. Gives him a chance to bed in with the team. Not that this will happen in Jan or anything.

Since we will get fourth no matter what happens in January, I don't see the point of buying players that can't play in the CL, considering that clubs want more for their players in January.

Less competition and more chance of actually pulling the signing off.  End of the day we're not R.Madrid/Barca and while we do have big pulling power but not to extent where players will choose us over other big clubs.

7 days later

Never going to happen. We just bought Welbeck and we have Giroud and Sanogo, who are all amazing.

And don't forget Diaby can play there.

Yeah, chance of us signing Cavani is 0.1%

He'd be an improvement on what we have, but really not worth the cash it would take to get him. Prefer to sort out the midfield and defense first

Gimme gimme gimme

Imagine going to places like Stamford bridge with genuine hope your team can score

I see we're getting linked with Cavani on twitter and Bild are saying Poldi is off to Inter. Hmm...

Normally i'd already be welcoming Edinson to the club, but i can't help remember Wenger saying oh how many strikers we have at the club...

I'm hopeful but not expectant.

A good striker can cover for a lot of deficiencies. I say go all in for cavani.

Wenger rubbished the Cavani rumors in his presser the other day.

With him not settling at PSG he might be available in the summer but they aren't going to let him go mid season

You have some weird mood swings these days...

Calling yourself a DILF means that you want to go fuck yourself. Technically. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not holding my breath over Cavani to Arsenal. If Wenger pulls THAT off though, then I promise not to wish Wenger out for the remainder of his contract. ๐Ÿ™‚

I still will if that's all he does,
and I'll amp up the tempo if he looks to utilise him as another who can lay across the line to fit AW's current design for the team.

Good for you.

He has lost his way a bit at PSG, but he scores all types of goals.

Yup. Now THAT would be a proper madness. ๐Ÿ™‚
Just saw Wenger in his pre-match presser saying 'he is looking for the right player to become available' in January. It is as if we have done NOTHING between September 1 and now, just now becoming aware that there is a transfer window opening. As far as I am concerned, transfers in should have been done and dusted WEEKS ago, just having the signatures left to complete them. Not how we roll though it seems. ๐Ÿ™

He also said that Podolski to Inter was 'laughable'. That they 'were not being serious'. Seems as if he only entertains a permanent transfer for Podolski and no loans. Seems right to me too, actually.

Yep should just need rubber stamping.

We'll fart around all month by which time all our mids will be back and we'd have thrown points away meanwhile

How hard is to call Southampton in November saying we want to buy Schneiderlin on January 1st - how much do you want for selling him? If they tell us to go fuck ourselves and that they will not sell him unless we pay ยฃ30m or something equally silly, then get in contact with the next club.

It would be so awesome to have a technically able centreforward who can outmuscle any defender in the world.

He's our only chance of getting a forward of that calibre too

Others are lesser or a punt

Most defenders anyway. Yeah, that would be pretty sweet. On top of that, we would then have one top class striker, and two good ones where there is plenty of room for improvement in one of them.

Pairing Cavani with either giroud, Welbeck, theo, ozil or Alexis would be fabulous too

Yeah, it would. We already have the personnel to play two up top, but Cavani is just in a different class.

January's gonna be a big disappointment isn't if?!

Wengs said today that he's not going to buy for buyings sake, but that's exactly what he'll do

It's his way of saying: "Kos is injured right now but he won't always be injured. I can't just go out and buy a third centreback because we're stretched thin at the moment."

Cue purchase of some ancient forgotten relic of a CB folllowing a suspect medical that fails to uncover some underlying injury ๐Ÿ™‚

My outside bet has been Olof Mellberg for a while now. Only 37, hasn't been retired for more than six months, knows Premier League, Kรคllstrรถm could probably put in a good word... would significantly improve our beard situation too. Can The Weng really stay away from such a bargain?

Scored the first competitive goal at the Emirates too, and we all know Wenger rates defenders who also score. Hmm, you may be on to something, Klaus! He does have a proper manly beard too.
