Irish Independant is linking us with James McCarthy. He's a very solid mid, not world class but better than Flamini and Arteta thats for sure.

McCarthy is interesting. He's had a great 2013, hasn't he? He's one of those guys whose quality Martinez seems utterly convinced about too, which is probably a good sign.

He'd be a good signing, we really need another CM to back up Ramsey.

He's been great for Everton, surprised me TBH. I'm still not 100% sure he's worth whatever they'd ask but fuck that as long as we get a good DM that is going to do the job well I don't really care.

He's more likely to join Spurs.
