I wasn't thinking of Ramsey specifically, but Podolski should have had a couple more chances given our obvious struggles in front of goal. You're right though, our squad depth is pretty awful. Several key positions have not one but two players who aren't good enough, which makes rotating pointless.

Was thinking yesterday (vs United) once we went down that Rosicky would have been great. He could have upped the tempo and helped transition the ball out of defense which was happening slowly with Arteta being marked by Rooney.

Imagine there's something happening at practice that is really showing Rosicky/Podolski's short comings.

There's nothing happening, they just don't fit into Wengers pre-ordained game plan and substitute timetable regardless of circumstances.

Agree with Klaus, Podolski hasn't been given a proper chance, squad depth is fine for attacking midfielders but we're down to our 3rd goalie and one regular central defender, 😆 what an incompetent twat Wenger is.
As regards Ramsey same as Podolski, form is temporary class is permanent and lets face it- Messi would look like a sack of shit if he was coached by Wenger.

Thought you have changed your mind on Rosicky after the good 3 years he has had with us. He's always a solid performer when being called upon.

And surely no one can be as bad as Ramsey's form right now. It's all about rotating and also surprising your opponents with it.

rosicky cant be relied on to hold a regular place. he has 1 good game then 3 awful ones. id rather have ramsey in there right now

3 good years? Massive exaggeration. Anyway he never gets played deep by Wenger and he's too old now. Still at least he's better than Podolski. Whether we rate them is irrelevant though, Wenger regularly keeps players in the squad he then Doesn't use. Just another one of his long time flaws that has been magnified in the current terrible run.

No, it's not. I think its undeniable he added alot in our last 3 runs to top 4, especially the former 2 years.

I agree with what you are saying in terms of squad players. All of them obviously have their own flaws, otherwise they would be in the first team. However, they also have unique stuffs that our first team currently do not offer. By rotating them and giving them more sub minutes etc would keep them happy and also change our team dynamic.

There are so many occasions where I felt he got his subs/lineup wrong which is why our results falter. It has lesser to do with our players and more to do with him.

He has gone backwards I everything he does. The worse part is the lack of ball winning, that was the crucial feature that helped him dominate last year and it seems to have completely evaporated this time around. Maybe the attention has gone to his head and e thinks e is the welsh be khan, doing adverts for GQ and trying to grow some aortic of fashion beard. He needs to go back to working his arse off and keep it very simple, the confidence and everything else will feed off that.

A lot of stat gurus on this forum - how do Ramsey's defensive stats this season compare to last year's numbers?

Worst thing is that there are no leaders and such characters at the club that would ensure his ego is kept in check.

No disciplinary figures at the club that would keep everyone grounded. No wonder they look like a bunch of playground kids on the pitch.

Stats show he is putting in similar figures for key passes and shots but he has halved his tackles?

Thing is this is like the 2011/12 season where e had good figures in shots and key passes but a naff output from them. Guy has barely hit the target this season outside of his early goal rush.

Also, does changing your appearance change your ego? Not necessarily, but he wasn't doing GQ styling session when he was stinking up the place getting hassle from fans and being called a flop was he? Needs more that 8 months of world class play to start being talked about in the manner he was last season.

Ramsey is shite, yes.

But personal grooming and a few endorsements and photoshoots doesn't mean he has suddenly acquired an ego or has decided to stop working hard. That leap of logic is ridiculous at best.
