They had one player breaking against seven of ours and no one except Gibbs put in a challenge. That was the problem, not Ramsey losing the ball.
If you want to see a pointless player have a look at Cazorla instead. We keep playing him in positions where things are expected of him defensively, but has he made a single successful tackle this season? Has he even marked someone successfully? There were a few occasions in the first half when he was standing in no man's land and just looking at a ball-carrying player. There was no one to mark, no passing lane to cut off, and he didn't step up to put any pressure either. It's just bullshit.
Wenger gets blamed for putting a player without any defensive nous in these situations, and probably rightfully, but it doesn't explain why six other players were looking completely redundant out there. Again: what the fuck is Steve Bould's function at the club? A defensive coach who can't coach defence?
