At the age of 27. That little bastard.

Blimey, City are a mess. Didn't bother watching the game as I thought they were nailed on for a win. No Toure for their remaining games or Fernandinho for the next for that matter. They're heading out barring a miracle.

If the game between Moskva and Roma doesn't end in a draw, City must beat Bayern or they're already out. 😆

Pellegrini will get sacked this season.

They remind me of our 01-03 teams in europe. Plenty of quality but repeatedly mugged off in europe

English teams are overrated. Pellegrini's formation doesn't suit Europe. Too much physicality in their team (suited for England), not enough skill (unsuited for UCL).

Think they have plenty of skill. Certainly more than Moscow and most probably more than Roma. That's not the problem.

That's clearly false going by the actual games. Moscow and Roma more than matched them in terms of skill and technique.

The Moscow players are not more talented than Nasri, Aguero, Silva, Jovetic or Toure.
Nor are Anderlecht as skilled as us just because we drew.

Seriously though. Citeh players shat on whatever fans they have from great height.

Your opinion is based on player comparisons that are made on paper.

Football is played on the pitch, not on paper. The football that occurred on the pitch says you are completely wrong.

City played CSKA Moscow twice, as did we against Anderlecht. It's not like they were one-off games. Both times, both teams struggled.

P.S. I never meant to say they are MORE talented by the way. Rather than it's wrong to assume that City are by default the better team.

It's not. They are by far the better team. Like we are in comparison to Anderlecht.

Good teams can have bad games like bad teams can have good games. If it happens two times in a row, then it just highlights some problems with the better teams.

In your mind, they might be. On the pitch was a completely different story. The reason you might think there are problems with the better teams is to justify your initial opinion. Sometimes there are problems, but usually the football on the pitch is the only and truest indication of how two teams compare.

This isn't domestic football, where you can compare two teams on their matchups and eventual position in the league. This is European football where teams are facing each other from completely different landscapes. There is nothing to go off except the actual matchups, and the nature of knockout football only adds to the difficulty in doing so.

You haven't seen a single Anderlecht or CSKA Moscow game this season. No-one has. It's ignorance and arrogance to assume that English lot are no doubt better and should beat them. Like I said, the actual results and performances are more valuable than any picture you may have painted in your head regarding how the outcome ought to have been.

You think it's arrogant to assume we're better than Anderlecht? 😆

If Anderlecht reaches Europa League and Everton eases past them, are Everton better than Anderlecht, Anderlecht equal to us, but we are better than Everton? You simply can't measure quality based on two matches. It's not arrogance to say that City are a better team than Moscow or that we are a far superior team to Anderlecht. This is a discussion I need thought I'd have, to be honest.

I think it's arrogant to know nothing of the opponent, but then assume we should beat them. I don't know anything about Anderlecht either, so I reserve opinion.

Wenger said the team underestimated them, which they certainly did, and so did the fan base.

So it'd be arrogant of Madrid to assume they'd beat a local pub team, or a team playing in the Nigerian second division?

You don't need to watch someone to know their approximate level.

Knock it off before I have to start cracking heads, you pillocks. 🙂

Personally I'd never read too much into a Russian or Ukrainian tie. The nature of the travel always seems to throw up odd results.

Malmö are in Champions League this season and most of their players aren't good enough to get into the worst Swedish national team in two decades.

The cup is called Champions League and not "The European Top Team Competition" for a reason. Being champions in Belgium, Greece and Sweden doesn't mean you wouldn't be relegation threatened in Premier League.

Red card to Benatia

Pen to City

Aguero scores. 1-0 City.

Has to be one of the worst tackles I've ever seen.
