Torino have confirmed that Cerci has asked to leave the club. Multiple sources in both Spain and Italy report that he is in talks with Arsenal. Supposedly his agent arrived in London yesterday. According to Italian newspapers, Torino would be looking for a fee in the region of £16 million.

If Alexis is going to play up front then Cerci is exactly the kind of player we should be looking for: a pacy, skillful winger who can also do a job up front if we run out of good options.

I read the other day Roma were also interested.

Too short. I miss the days when we used to have Bendtner playing at right wing towering over opposition fullbacks and winning aerials, especially from goalkicks. Sigh!

I've seen that story too, but Torino's chairman said yesterday that the potential buyers were overseas.

Klaus, I only realized yesterday after you posted the Cerci compilation that he was actually left footed. I always thought he was right footed since he played as a right side forward.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we are in for him.

I really don't think Wenger likes to play Ozil on the left wing but after two seasons he probably dislikes playing Cazorla there even more. Ozil has to play though and he keeps the width so Wenger has played him there.

If Cerci can play as the left sided forward with Sanchez in the center, Walcott on the right and Ozil feeding them, then we will have everything in that forward line.

the only upside is if it keeps ozil off the left wing. other than that i dont see the point of signing an above average winger that doesnt score goals?

He scores plenty of goals.

I don't get this rumour. It's apparently being all over the papers in Italy and there are some very reliable Italian journalists confirming that we are in talks, but why do we need another winger instead of a CF?

Width, pace, trickery and the ability to carry the ball forward on the left side. I wouldn't say no.

I have been wish listing, pipe dreaming Reus all summer.

Realistically a forward who could take us to the next level is not possible. The other alternative is to have top class wide forwards, the best around, to compensate for the lack of a world class striker and Sanchez/ Reus, possibly Cerci are of the required quality.

Cos, according to Wenger, there's no strikers available.

Hey Klaus, please post the compilation in here as well.

Edit: Cheers man

The goal around 1:36 shows how quick he is.

Because we're playing Alexis up front. We literally only have Walcott who fits the description of a pacy winger who moves vertically, and he's still out.

We absolutely should have.

He'd have jumped at the chance to come here too.

Surely Chamberlain can still be considered as a pacy winger?

Chamberlain could turn into one given some time but he cuts into the field far too much. The only one who doesn't share that feature is Podolski, and it doesn't look like he'll ever get a start under Wenger again.
