Sokratis won't play when both Hummels and Subotic are present and injury free, that's the long and short of it. From his perspective it would make sense to leave now instead of sitting on the bench for a season first and then forcing a move.
But both Hummels and Subotic are out now. And they have a lot of injury problems with them. Why would they let him leave?

Funniest thing is I used to watch it when I was younger and never even realised anything racist about it.
Not excusing what i call innocent ignorance but everything from that era could be construed as kind of racist and/or sexist. Nowadays calling the Washington hand-egg team the Redskins is a controversy. I remember a comic about indians and totem poles blatantly called Oompapa. Nobody would publish that now.
