Bale would absolutely tear shit up as a CF at Arsenal. Put Alexis left, Bale central, Walcott right with Ozil at #10 and Ramsey playing box-to-box and I legitimately don't care who plays DM or CB.

Not at all. Buying him was more ridiculous. He doesn't click with Ronaldo on the pitch, plays much better when Ronaldo is injured. It's an easy choice to make between Ronaldo and Bale. It makes even more sense if they can get Reus "for free" in RM terms.

They did win the CL though with Bale having an integral role, and played some scintillating football throughout last season. The kind of power, pace and shooting ability that Bale and Ronaldo possess makes the team more dangerous than with 'just' Ronaldo. Not that Reus is a poor player, but he is hardly an upgrade on Bale.

He's a pretty big upgrade.

I'm almost surprised some people disagree. Bale is faster than Reus, but the German is a much more complete player. Bale is a really good player, but also limited. He's good enough for pretty much everyone else than the top three (Bayern, Barca, Real).

Actually Bayern could be a good move for him, good Robben/Ribery replacement.

Let me rephrase then. If I were a Real Madrid supporter I would not replace Bale with Reus.

If I were a Real Madrid supporter I would think... "We can sell Bale for about €100m and buy Reus for about 20% of that, plus Reus is a much more complete player than Bale. No question, no doubt, no sorrow when we do it." Bale is a better version of Walcott, but totally replacaeble. Seeing Bale play this season just makes me wonder more how people actually can rate him higher than Reus. A comparable duel would be something like Schürrle vs. Sanchez, where the latter of course is Reus. No competition whatsoever.

I think we all pretty much said that the Real supporters would be somewhat disappointed when they realized that Bale can just run really fast, and shoot really hard. He is a pretty good footballer, but that is mostly it.

The madness here is that Madrid paid that stupid amount of money for Bale in the first place, when they could have got Reus from Dortmund then and there had they offered them somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of what they paid Spurs.
