Would've been the ideal player for us. I think Jovetic has similar all-round qualities though.

Like him a lot. Would be interesting to see him take a step up to a bigger stage. See what he can do. Have a feeling he'll go to Milan eventually if Cassano is forced into retirement.

There are certainly a few options out there for us to add quality.

Our main worry is losing rvp as we'd barely replace him then it'd be one step forward two steps back again

That's the main problem isn't it. Wenger gets a lot of criticism but he has to be given a lot of credit too for the squad. Basically it's an excellent team we've got. I expect Chamberlain to be a regular next season, and we have Wilshere coming back too who's practically invaluable. Ramsey will have a full season under his belt as well. If we could add just one outstanding attacking player to this squad to make us less reliant on Robin we'd have a team to compete with for real. Unfortunately it feels like we're closer to lose Robin than we are to sign someone on his level, which means that the benefit of getting someone like Wilshere back will be wasted. Best case scenario he'll make up for the quality we lose.

Having jack and chamberlain around plus the thought of seeing vermaelen and koscielny as a central partnership is my main comfort or next year. Hopefully rvp stays. You never know, the fans unrest may make not buying proven quality an option

wow, this spurs business is depressing. Though I thought the interview kinda pushed him there, gotta share Y's impression it looks like he certainly didn't distance himself from that. I'd be almost as depressed as Ricky with such a turn of events - been thinking this boy was born for us.

If he does go to Spurs, we've seriously fucked up one way or another. We can't really compete with the two Spanish clubs when it comes to player acquisition but we shouldn't be losing out to the scum.

Edit: Unless they sell Modric for 30 million+ I guess...

I think if he had offers from all he would come here, provided we are in the CL. So if we make the CL, AND we're willing to pay the 40M or whatever fee, I think he'll come here. He wants to play, he wants to learn, and then move on to Real or Barca. Let's be honest, this is the best place to do so.

All anyone can gather from that interview is that he will a premiership player next season. There will be big interest from the london clubs and possibly Liverpool but I imagine it will depend on champions league football. I would have had Chelsea in the driving seat before.
