30% of those appearances have been as a sub.
Oxlade-Chamberlain getting ready for the new season
"72.8% of statistics quoted on the internet are made up" - Abraham Lincoln.
Okay, but that's not. You can look it up quite easily.

50 starts, 43 sub appearances.
So yeah, not 30%.
Shit, how could I be so wrong...
Flamini would have got the correct stats.
Same boat as Wilshere with less under his belt. Eventually he must deliver, right now he could do with a purple patch to restore our faith.

He's started 8 times this season. We're relying on players like him, Wilshere and Ramsey whose age shows through their inconsistency. We as a team are paying for it in many ways.
Was/is there another Ox thread?
I figure it's time to talk about Alex.
I remember not so long ago a common view was that he was not all that, while others thought he's talented but far away.
Don't remember too many thinking he's WC quality bound, or even that he'll dispatch Theo.
I always thought he's a massive talent (though I didn't know about his breakthrough). It does start looking like this is it.
(only had to go to page3 or 4 for this )
He reminds me of a young Ronaldo. If he gets his head down and works hard, particularly on his touch, he could be lethal.
His touch isn't that bad, imo. A bit inconsistent, if anything. Needs to work on his decision making though.
When I say touch I mean his general control of the ball, often scuffs or over hits his shots, has a heavy touch, too much power on cutbacks etc. It'll make him much more efficient.
Agree with that, it's little things he needs to improve on. Playing and training with Sanchez should help him.

Like every other player, he was criticised for bad performances but i cannot remember it ever being a common view that he was not "all that" unless "all that" is WC (ie Alexis,Costa,Aguero-good).
At the moment, he is on track to be better than Theo and that's only a "maybe" as Theo is by far a more natural goal scorer.
Personally i prefer a winger to be more like Ox than Theo but not when our best striker is a blunt object like Giroud.
Always amusing going through threads like this and reading what posters think of a player when he is going through a bad spell!
Chambo is a star
He is getting there anyway.
He's been a lot better lately. His dribbling suddenly seems like it's got more thought and purpose behind it and he's actually hurting the opposition with it. I hope he keeps it up.

Maybe it's "common view" that needs clarifying - I didn't mean "most" held that view, but it was fairly common, yes. Some insisted he was an invention, a hype, nothing more.
My view is that he is already better than Theo, though consistency taken to account, he may not be preferred.
Once Chambo adds a couple more goals to his game he'll be a comfortably better player than Theo.
