Wanyama is a rich mans Song. Carvalho is the real deal.

Why do people compare black players only with other black players? It's like you think they're all the same. There's plenty of white players for comparisons.

I've read Carvalho is too much like Song and that he is an overhyped overpriced Wanyama. Failing that he's Huddlestone.

Why not compare him to James Mccarthy or Michael Carrick or Mascherano. I get that they're all more established but they're game might be more similar. And given that it looks like either Carvalho or Khedira why not compare him to the latter?

Was thinking exactly the same thing.

Well he reminds me of Lucas Mendez, the former Spain, Valencia and Juventus captain. 6ft 3, strong, powerful, mobile centre mid with a right foot that could open a can of beans.

Best player I ever created in Footy Manager.

He reminds me of a cross between Xabi Alonso and Javi Martinez.

Happy now? 😛

Tony Leen saying we've tabled a bid. 😃

@NonFlyingIceman You're welcome. Here's a heads-up for you: Arsenal have, I hear, now tabled bid for Carvalho, tho they may deny it publicly

I don't know how anyone can seriously justify one regular season in football and that too in the Portuguese league being better than a player who starts (when fit) for the world cup holders and champions league holders.

Khedira's unfortunately gone the Sagna way of poorly handing his contract and let down by the fact he broke his leg in the 2nd last year of his deal. If he'd had a smarter agent he'd have re-negotiated in 2013 and he'd have had 2 big contracts instead of one.

Did you even read what Gaz said?

Not once did he say Carvalho was better than Khedira.

Yes I did. He wrote "better than the guys being mentioned here" of which the most prominently being mentioned is Khedira.

He meant Song, Wanyama and Huddlestone. The players Carvalho was compared with.

nope. it was in reference to the wanyama/huddlestone comments.

Well when you say the "names being mentioned here" it certainly includes Khedira so you might want to modify that the next time.

It doesnt matter, what matters is that Liam Brady has leaked false info to Tony Leen about our bid, so it would occupy the journos and Twitter folk while we sign Khedira!

Mike Dean would have red carded this so fast. And Andrew Marriner would have sent Yaya Sanogo off.

Forget Khedira, it ain't happening.

Gunner89 need to quite being so serious in life 😆

I'm fairly confident we're gonna get either Carvalho or Khedira now.

I can live with that.

no, everyone understood the context but you. it's ok to admit a mistake, it doesn't mean you have a small weiner or something!

what do you guys think of that tackle? to me, it's a great fucking tackle. doesnt stiffen his leg, he comes in from the side like you're supposed to. can't hurt anyone doing that. not his fault that the two blue guys run into each other like morons.

I once got tackled like that in a park.
We were all playing casual (not too serious) football apart from this one guy who we named the 100 percenter.
I was stretching to keep the ball in play miles away from their goal by the half way line and next thing i know is seeing glimpses of the sky, clouds and a bit of sun while somersaulting due to the force of his tackle.
Miraculously i wasn't injured as we weren't even wearing pads so i got up and chased after him looking for revenge.
Unfortunately i ended up injuring my groin in the process of trying and failing to clatter the the bstard.
