Harry's not alone in that group.

Here's one for this thread. Diaby is the worst of DDS.

Don't think it's controversial to say he's the worst value for money due to all the injuries. However if he'd been injured less often he definitely would've outdone Denilson as an Arsenal player. Song's the best of the three.

Denilson was a fraud - looked ok simply because he could recycle the ball to Fabregad. Did fuck all once he was actually in the team despite showing glimpses earlier.

I'm not talking about value, I'm saying he's the worst footballer. Denilsons weaknesses are always over stated now but he was an average enough player. Tidy but didn't make much impact on games, wasn't good in a tackle and failed to track back too often.

As I've said before I think if Diaby had stayed fit rather than giving us more as a player or improving he'd just have been shown up quicker.

Yeah, I don't agree.

Pretty much all of Diaby's performances (such as he's had) in the last two or three seasons he's shown fairly mature use of the ball—high pass completion etc—and a lot more discipline getting back to cover the defence than he originally had.

He could never sit in front of the defence for toffee, but he did eventually develop a much better radar for when Song or another midfielder sharing that responsibility was getting forward.

Denilson actually possesses most of the faults—limited passing vision, low foot speed and laziness—that the other two are often accused of having.

I think Diaby had the highest ceiling.

Sure, Ross Barkley is a slightly above average footballer and thats how he'll stay.

Henry should have seen his career out with us, he was wrong to leave for Barca.

can we think of examples outside of arsenal?

Was this for the thing I was talking about?

Drogba. Highly intelligent and cunning player despite many fans holding the opinion that he's some kind of atavistic monster.

I don't think thats the prevailing view of Drogba at all. I think most would consider him a very smart player who also happened to have the physical attributes of a man suffering/benefiting from a large dose of monsterism.

yeah he's looked at as some sort of legend of his generation. That may be slightly too high a praise. He was on the Graham Norton show ffs.

So was Henry!

yeah but he's more well known and a truer legend

If you say so. I'm not particularly invested in the example.

I just found out that Glen Johnson is a maths nerd—that was a surprise.

Zlatan is a better footballer than Messi and Ronaldo.

The wrong football opinion thread hasn't been opened yet Rex

Don't think Rex cares too much about national pride.

Steven Gerrard has made every side he played for this season worse.

That's not controversial around here, it's practically an article of faith!

The generation coming up at Arsenal is not as good as we all hope.
