My guess is that we won't go above 10 and Newcastle will be happy enough to take it.

Its Newcastles policy to sell for profit. What are the chances they'll get more than £6m next summer? They will want rid this summer so they can sign a younger player with profit potential.

So we would have refused to meet Sagna's wage demands only to sign an inferior player, in my opinion anyway, for £12 Million plus wages? That when our reported opening bid for Sanchez is £20 Million?

It just doesn't make sense. We may be interested in, and close to signing Debuchy but hard to imagine we will be paying anywhere close to what is being reported.

sagna did say it wasn't about the money. he might have been telling the truth and actually just wanted a change of scenery. maybe

150k per week for that cunt to sit on the City bench. No other reasons.

Fuck right off calling Sagna a cunt.

Ok signing I guess. Sagna is a better player, but Debuchy is slightly better going forward so we might not be worse off all in all.

That's not on Clrnc.

Eh? I don't care what shit reasons they give, as long as they move to our rivals they are all the same to me.

Agree that they are all they same, 'wanted a change' is clearly bollox, although dont think any are cunts. Just another player who moves on.. Next.

City are nothing, they have no history they have no tradition we have no rivalry with them nobody cares about them.
Baccary Sagna never disrespected our club or its supporters, and he was perfectly honest and up front.
The same with Samir Nasri, good luck to them.
Alexandr Hleb Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie were deceitful they disrespected our club and us supporters, they went to clubs with a history of rivalry with us.
Fuck them they are cunts.

This has all been discussed already. This thread is about Debuchy, theres still a Sagna thread for everyones arguments about him.

We have no history of rivalry with Barcelona, except for in the minds of a handful of people on dem internetzz.

12m for debuchy? nonsense, even 10m is too much. if buying a RB means we're bidding for khedira at 30m euros instead of vidal at 45m then fuck that position.

Arsenal have been in contact with Newcastle over the potential signing of Mathieu Debuchy, according to Sky sources.

The defender is currently at the World Cup with France and Arsenal are looking for a new right-back following the departure of Bacary Sagna, who has joined Manchester City.

Debuchy has previously admitted he is keen to compete in the UEFA Champions League and Arsenal can offer the 28-year-old that opportunity.

However, any deal is unlikely to be concluded until after France's World Cup participation is over.

Debuchy moved to Newcastle from Lille in January 2013 for an undisclosed fee, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract.

It is understood that should Debuchy finalise his exit from St James' Park, then Manchester City's Micah Richards is on the Magpies' radar to replace him.

Richards has one year left on his current deal at City, who have told him he can leave the club this summer after he rejected the chance to extend his contract.

Our interest is real. I think this one will happen which means Wenger is banking on Jenkinson as our long term right back since he's not going after younger targets such as Janmaat or Aurier.

Or he's thinking bellerin...

Or you guys are over-thinking things- Wenger is going for a player who can slot-in as opposed to a project player. Maybe if Coleman was available he'd have gone for him. Rightly or wrongly this guy has been getting starts over Sagna for France for 2 years.

And yes he cost Newcastle 6m so I don't think he's going for a small profit on that. Think it's around the 10-12m region.

Wouldn't be out of character for Wenger—he's about on par with Monreal or Santos. £12m's a lot but £9-10m would be considered normal.

He's better than those 2 i hope. May as well go with Jenkinson if not.

He's a Gibbs level player without any illusions of ever being anything more. It's okay for now but it's effectively £12 million spent to weaken the team.

He's taken out 'NUFC' from his Twitter bio. It's happening. There you have it lads, our new RB, Matty Debuchy.
