Yeah, it might just work out perfectly but if Jenkinson and/or Bellerin don't develop sufficiently in the meantime then this is a waste of money and a wasted opportunity.
Signing Debuchy would be a big step backwards.
no it isn't. he starts ahead of Sagna for France and isn't significantly weaker on defense. probably a bit better going forward. if he's healthy, we won't notice Sagna's absence. i'd be happy if we closed this sharpish and then focus on the business of bringing in Schneiderlin/Sanchez.
How's his stamina like and how willing is he to just run all game long? I've watched him a fair bit but for some reason never noticed those aspects.
If he can run Wenger has a lot to work with and will make Debuchy look class in our system. Just not another Andre Santos please. Fullbacks who can't run dont work.
He can run for days. It's his best attribute imo.
Very underwhelming otherwise though.
Abit underwhelming. I rate him, but given who we have been linked with this window this guy is a little meh
All you underwhelmers, now that Coleman has extended, who do you want Wenger to bring in?
I cannot think of a right back who is going to elevate us to the next level right now. Debuchy would still be one of the best RBs in the top 4. In the absence of a game changer, we need to just secure someone who will give us stability there, and focus on other roles

Sakho was starting ahead of Kos for France. The French team is just wrong.
Debuchy is a poor defender IMO. Watched him enough times for Newcastle to know I don't want him.
best we can do in this market. is Aurier that much better? he's electric going forward, but not the most refined on defense. just get in something not named Jenkers
Aurier, Chambers, etc all have potential to improve. Juanfran is better right now. There are other options than Debuchy.
Lichtsteiner is is only a year older than Debuchy too and thrice the player. Will probably move this summer. The argument that it was pointless to sign someone who's the same age as Sagna goes out the window when your actual target turns out to be a 29 year old midtable player without any outstanding qualities.
Well, Klaus, it's ridiculous to get rid of Sagna in the first place if you're going to replace him with an age mate. Now that he's gone though, let's just plug the gap and solve up front. Coleman would've been an opportunity to transform that position, but now I feel like we just a body in there
Debuchy seems a likely target at 29 actually in Wenger thinking; a younger player, like Aurier, would kill Jenkinson and Bellerin. God forbid that would happen.
This seems like paper talk because we need a RB and he's French. Doesn't seem a Wenger player.
what exactly is a Wenger player? Sanogo? Jenkinson? Park?
Almunia, Andre Santos, Eboue, Arshavin, Gervinho, Denilson, ...
Henry, Vieira, Ozil, Pires, Ramsey, van Persie, Fabregas, Kos, Sol,...
Debuchy may be a dud but Rex's point is, like everyone, Wenger signs both duds and gems. After Sanogo, you can't even use the technical argument.
Don't think he's a dud. He's just not gonna have you reaching for that zipper

and sagna did?
