Are we really competing with PSG for Aurier now? Debuchy is kinda meh. Good enough if we bring in a top striker.
Yeah, will be underwhelming. Very.
Wonder what he'd sell for? I reckon there is better value to be had, but he is a solid player.

Yep.
Irrelevant, but...
Don't want Debuchy. We need to do better.
was wondering when this link would pop up. one of the most milquetoast fullbacks around. Would rather take a punt on auriers potential
Mmmmmmhh milk toast
Debuchy has quality hair though according to my soon to be ex. :hmm:
According to l'Equipe we're in advanced stages of negotiations with him.
The rumours that I'm seeing are all French sources which usually makes me take them more seriously.
He's a better signing than Aurier seems to be at least. Bang average player though.
I don't think it's hard for us to make an agreement with the player, but reckon Newcastle will play hardball over a fee even if he has only a year left on his contract and that will allow others to step in. Think he'll end up moving abroad while we go for Aurier.
Don't think he's bad, would be a bit of a Lauren figure.
A bit more imaginative going forward and a bit worse defensively; could be a good compromise. He won't come cheap though.
I know he is preferred over Sagna for France but I don't know why. For me replacing Sagna with him for a start to the transfer window would mean we are slightly weaker in another position in the first team. We will need some super quality additions elsewhere to make up for it.
We wont be significantly weaker if we sign him, but it would be underwhelming because its obviosu he's not going to improve over the coming years.
Think Rohit is spot on in his assessment. We'll cope with an average rightback though; it's not exactly the most vital position on the field unless you happen to be playing in Brazil. He's not a potential disaster like Jenkinson.
We need someone who can win all those headers szcesny pumps up field. Seemed to be sagna's role.
Debuchy is a quality player. Getting rid of a 31 year old RB just to turn around and sign a 29 year old RB is bizarre though. We'll need to replace him in two years, three at most. This was a good opportunity to lock down this position for many years to come but it looks like we're going to buy more time for Jenkinson and Bellerin. I hope they make the most of it. In the immediate short term, this would be a very good signing.
If the long term plan is Jenkinson, then signing a 29 year old is perfect though.
