Can we close this thread?
rumours that deal is back on.
Hmmm. I thought about it. It's too much of a wrench for me, too painful š I'll have to leave it to one of the others.
Why close it? He'll leave real this summer and we are a prime contender for his signature
We should close this as Wenger has publicly denied any interest in him. Any subsequent links should go to houseboat IMO.
Why? What harm does having a specific thread about Khedira do?
It keeps hope alive, I'm going to ignore what Wenger said yesterday. Damn him, we'll keep this open.
Don't think we should close it either.
Khedira is very likely to be on the move and we've definitely made enquiries. Everything else is interesting vapour until he signs somewhere or the window closes.
stupid to close a thread bc wenger denied the rumours, bc nothing he says means anything. it's not like he's under penalty of perjury. if anything, he confirmed that we were interested.
Despite Wenger insisting that his side were never in for Khedira, Spanish paperĀ SportĀ claims that the Gunners are still monitoring his situation, and are ready to make a bid near the end of the transfer window.

Might have to get used to watching from the sidelinesĀ
The Real Madrid management have been less than happy with the goings-on of the player and his agent these last few months. The German's strategy was to simply not respond to his club's offer of a contract renewal before the end of the World Cup, waiting for his salary offer to be upped. Real feel that the German should come back down to earth and bring his financial demands down with him. If he doesn't, he runs the risk of seeing out the whole season in the stands, which would severely affect his reputation and might even see him being left out of the German team. For now, no offer has come in for the player. The club is hoping for some last minute proposals before the summer market window closes.

Here's to hoping Khedira is our deadline day signing!
I think it's still a vague possibility, though I don't believe that Wenger would be too enamoured with the antics of Khedira's agent.
looks like we're trying to pull another ozil. but gives us very little time to agree personal terms, esp given a greedy agent.
Wenger confirmed we aren't after him due to having enough box to box midfielders. Why does this thread still exist?
Because people other than yourself want it to. You can take refuge in the Willy thread if this one's upsetting you š
get left out of the german team for the important international games of 2015? sami must be scared shitless at the thought.
I don't think it's greedy to want a raise after four years of service. He had the upper hand in these negotiations and used it to pressure them a little. Simple as.
Aye, but he's just sat out the best part of 7-8 months, if he's willing to do so again just for a few extra quid then I'd have to question his mentality.
I don't think that's going to happen though. Madrid will either give him what he wants or they'll move him along. He can pick almost any club in the world as his next address if he wants to.
