The article, which I disagree with, seems to say that he's not a DM because he has few tackles, interceptions and long balls.

One is what he does, other is what he can do. If Arsene sees him as part of our midfield setup, then he knows what he wants from him.
I think it would be a very Wengerlike to get Khedira and NOT someone like Schneiderlin. The former would undeniably be awesome for us, but the latter is more needed

Sorry Wil, was being a bit facetious.
"The Gunners boss is keen to add a midfield anchorman after sealing the deal for Alexis Sanchez but have been told Khedira will cost upwards of £20million"
Khedira needs to start pushing for this transfer if he really wants to play with his best friend.
20-25m isn't unreasonable at all. I hope we get him or, at worst, Schneiderlin.

It's unreasonable considering he has one year left on his current deal
Depends if he really wants to leave or not, Madrid have been trying to negotiate a new contract with him.

It's not unreasonable considering we need him now and not next summer.
My gut feels is that we'll get him

It's around what we got for van Persie on his last deal and Khedira has the added premium of being a CL winner, younger, less injury prone and not being a cunt. Maybe it's over paying by a few million but I still would.
I'm getting excited by this, Khedira may not be the most defensive minded based on what he's shown for Real but he's such a complete player that I think he can adapt. Plus, with Khedira and Sanchez we might get the best out of Ozil - who I still think is key to taking us to the next level if he can find his feet.
Seriously, a midfield of Ramsey and Khedira will flatten any other midfield their likely to come across, physically, technically and mentally.
Nasri was in his final year and wanted to leave, we sold him for over 20m.
All transfers are different, just because you x amount for one player does not mean you can get the same amount for another player
Definitely, just saying it isn't an unreasonable amount.

We are not that desperate of a need for Khedira, we defiantly need another holding midfield player, which Khedira is not he's more of a b2b player.
Just imagine Khedira is Flamini on a round of steroids and better technical ability.
There are attack minded midfielders who are poor at defending, there are defence minded midfielders who are ineffective in attack then there are midfielders with the strength and intelligence to do both.
Khedira's one of them.
Sign him on top of Sanchez and Debuchy and we're serious contenders for the league.
Khedira has plenty of defensive intelligence. One of the best two-way players out there. He would make an awesome signing.
What impressed me most of Khedira thus World Cup has been his passing
That's what we will miss when arteta keels over
Arteta isnt anything special on the ball.
I realized that one day last season when i was watching Xabi Alonso play.
