Against Brazil bastian schweinsteiger was sitting deepest of the three, he had more defensive responsibilities than Khedria. Khedria is nothing more than a glorified highlight reel, the only reason he looks so impressive against Brazil his because he had more freedom to express his game.

If he and Ramsey started games together they will leave a lot of hole in our midfield. Whenever he has ask to sit for Real Madrid he looks awful and restricted. He's nothing more than a square peg trying fitting in a round hole if he comes here and try to be our holding midfield player.

Schweinsteiger was sitting deep and distributing while Khedira was working his ass off creating space for him to do so. Gattuso had a similar function at Milan when he played with Pirlo. It's a tactic, not an inherent defensive flaw in Khedira's game. Fucking hell.

We need a defensively aware, strong, dynamic midfielder - Khedira, sign him now.

Yes we do. We need somebody to sit, Arteta use to do it, but his legs went and can't perform that duty for an entire season.

I don't get where you are making a point for Khedira or just validating the statement I was making all long.

If he was just sitting why did he need the legs?
Answer: he didn't just sit, most of the times that he was caught out it was because he couldn't get back fast enough to defend.
We would not have that issue with Khedira

No need to worry about his defensive ability. Get him and we have loads of options in midfield

A trio from Ramsey, Khedira, Ozil, Wilshere, Cazorla, Chambo, Rosicky or Diaby would be pretty darn offensive

A trio from Khedira, Arteta, flamini,Ramsey, Wilshere, and Chambo would be solid defensively

You take what I mean too literally. What I want from my holding midfield player is someone to cover space vacated by our fulbacks, cut out all the passing lane when an opposition breaks on the counter attack against us to spot danger early and try to negate it and to take the ball from defence and start our attack. Arteta was very good at that, but he can't expected to do it for an entire season anymore.

Khedira is not that type of player he's a dynamic b2b player, that will take ball and drive at the heart of the opposition defense.

Khedira isn't a fixed entity, he can adapt, Arteta wasn't always a holding midfielder.
Thinking of a rigid role and assigning types to players isn't the best way to use a squad.

I would strongly doubt that Wenger would want to recruit a guy to simply screen the defense and cover fullback runs. Khedira can do the exact job that Arteta did with twice the athleticism. Our team would not have been as reliant on Arteta covering last season if we had the attacking options we will have this year. I want two box to box midfielders that can develop a chemistry to be able to cover each other when they venture forward. I think Ramsey, Wilshere and Khedira would all have those qualities.

What has that got to do with absolutely anything? You must have wished we hadn't signed Ramsey, he was only playing for little old Cardiff!

Schneiderlin is what we need imo, not Khedira.
