😆
Unless we get Cavani, I think he is our number 1 target for the CF position. Which works for me cause i think he's be a good backup to Giroud and if we don't loan Sanogo the trio would be a decent CF lineup.
Morata is indeed a top talent, but I am still largely against his signing; I'd much prefer a striker who is clearly ahead of Giroud right from the start, which Morata certainly wouldn't be.
The Daily Mirror says Wenger has asked Zinedine Zidane to talk sense into Real Madrid over the sale of young Morata. They supposedly want either a 3 year buy-back clause inserted into his contract or a straight cash deal at £25m - Wenger's thinks about £12m is more reasonable.
Of course he does.
We'll probably agree on £15 million plus another £10 million or so in addons in the end. Seems clear that Wenger rates this lad.
who'd be happy if we paid £25m for him?
£25 mil for who?
No thanks.
The add ons would only kick in if he is successful. If so, then 25m will turn out to be a bargain.
Indeed. You pay a premium fee for talent today and outrageously much for proven players. That's how the market is. It's not going to get any easier unless you develop your own players, but I don't see any outstanding attacking talent coming through in the reserves right now.
We must be close to £20m on Chamberlain now I reckon. Money well spent IMO.

The Mirror is still running with the Arsene Scrooge persona then 😆

So this'll be our big striker signing then....
Better not be...

nope, the top-ups stopped at £15m.
Still a bargain.
