What i meant is that he wouldnt be considered an instant starter here. We would probably let him settle in, maybe even bulk up a bit more and maybe next year he could be the one to replace Arteta in the starting XI.

Not an instant fix like maybe Khedira or Carvalho would be.

Based on Youtube and nothing else, I don't like the look of him. Doesn't look very athletic, I don't like his balance, don't like how one footed he appears to be and he doesn't seem like he could tackle his way out of a paper bag.

Ah, but they say he can pass the ball Ricky.

Apparently that's what we're lacking in midfield now.

At £5.6m you would be mad to not be in for a player of his talents. As soon as he has a new contract he would double in value overnight. This has pure Wenger signing written all over it.

We need height and can't forego a passer in Midfield for a pure destroyer off the ball.

Some folk want a big one.

No laughing matter that.

We will never buy a big clumsy "DM" so people should get over this idea already. Rabiot feels like either Arteta replacement, or a CM who will play in tandem with Ramsey as B2B, in a role where Wilshere played against Palace.

Not a single poster here wants a 'big clumsy DM'. Lots of us want the club to spend the money required on a player that mixes athleticism and power with technical ability. They cost a lot of money because they're hard to come by and add big value to their team.

Reminds of of Xabi Alonso from the youtube vids, which wouldn't be bad. That being said, I'd much rather we signed someone a little more solid, doesn't strike me that he's particularly defensive minded.

I want some strength and mobility in there, a proper athlete. Not Jordan Henderson though. Someone that can control and pass quickly in a congested midfield. That's tactically switched on.

This kid looks a decent passer but what's he really going to give us that we don't already have?

You want matuidi then

Rabiot has good distribution. Our game goes to muck when arteta isn't there

Really, we've spent all summer in the Khedira thread where many wanted someone who "would sit" instead. Which translates into a big athletic DM type. And 99% of them are also clumsy.

Its that 1% that we need to be going after. I'm talking about spending big money on a player that can give us everything we want from a midfielder in there, and not making do with one that can only do one or the other.

I don't want Matuidi, I want a cross between Matiudi and Arteta!

I don't think the player you want exists Rick!

Arturo Vidal. Arteta's intelligence and technique bundled with Matuidi's energy and physique.

If he goes to United I will break something. Something expensive. I'll smash it good and proper. Then I'll tell my girlfriend it wasn't me.

Just make sure it isn't a marble coffee table. 🙁

The breaking of said something will be a considered process. When the time comes, I will survey my surroundings, select just the right object, with just the right amount of value, both monetary and sentimental, and smash it. Smash it good.

Additionally, for you Klausie, I will take into account the number of metal pins that shall have to be inserted into my hand as a result of smashing said something, but I can't promise I'll change my choice on that basis.

Good man. 🙂 Just get yourself a good stress ball afterwards and keep squeezing it regularly, and you're bound to get the mobility back into your hand.

Decent writeup on Rabiot

Agreed.
1.Do not like.
2.Do not want.
3.Do not need.

He's 157 pounds? Extremely lightweight still.

157 lbs at 6 ft 1 is practically undernourished.

Nonsense. With a bodyfat percentage of around what would be 10-12 percent that's not a decent weight.

30 million euros? Can't be right.

30 mil? 😆

He will run down his contract and move on a free in 2015 then.

They must think they can convince him with loads of game time this season then.

Or they just don't give a fuck.

Never cared about a transfer target as little as this one.

I think it's BS personally.

Agree with Otf. Marv definitely cared about this transfer.
