Lukaku would be as good a signing as Balotelli IMO. He's a consistent threat, pretty quick, big and strong. More consistent than Balo though maybe not as naturally talented.

He is a better signing than Balotelli. The latter is more talented, but the former is a better footballer.

If we are nitpicking, Giroud's strike rate is lagging. The stats do not show his full value to our team in terms of shape and game control.
Also Sanogo is completely useless, according to stats, as he scored no goals when we all know his contribution this season has been positive.

Those stats don't include the fact that about 10 of Balotelli's goals are penalties. We get about 1 a season.

Remy's stats are based on 1 and a half seasons which is why the 14 games.

Remy's stats are based on 6 months with a crap QPR, 6 months with Cabaye, 6 months with Tiote, Anita and Sissoko feeding him.

A lot of people want Balotelli based on how big they rate him as a talent having watched him. Numbers alone don't help in some cases. There are a lot of opinions on this forum and otherwise across the internet on such players where numbers at times don't match up to the talent of the player for various reasons but fans would like to see them wear their club's shirt anyways.

I am with you as i do not like Remy or his game.
He will score goals but will not significantly improve us beyond 4th place, imo.

That sums up the entire argument here really. Its talent vs consistency/professionalism x how likely you think he is to reform (price)

Which would be fine if he came for 5-10m as a project player but for a 25-30m player I think expecting more than 10-12 league goals is not expecting too much. He's not only NOT prolific but a nutcase as well.

A factor worth throwing into the mix is that we already have a "dependable" sort of player in Giroud. Rarely injured, good work rate, predictable patterns and involvement in play etc.

Same goes for Walcott for that matter. We know his game inside out and so do our opponents.

In my opinion, as well as someone faster than Giroud, we'd also benefit from a bit of a mercurial talent with a high ceiling in our setup, especially against stronger opposition capable of tactically neutralising our off the shelf threats.
