Weren't both Scheva and Crespo declining when they came to the PL? I'd hardly call Torres a flop though. He was pretty lethal when he came from Spain. Veron is a good shout though. I still don't think it is very much risk to bring in top class players. They usually do well in whichever country they ply their trade.

If only sign him and no other strokes I hope we bring in a LW as well. Reason being if it doesn't work out we at least have something to fall back on!

He is a massive talent but also a big risk as well. If we do take a gamble then we need to have some kind of backup as well. Ideally we'd sign him and Morata!

I meant Torres' Chelsea transfer.

Both Sheva and Crespo were in their prime when they signed for Chelsea.

What are the chances that we find a striker who actually has better numbers than Giroud? Costa is off the market, and I highly doubt that Falcao/Cavani will be moving. So whoever we find will need to give us something different to Giroud (e.g., he gives us speed while playing in place of Giroud, or he can play off Giroud the way Ramsey does).

Balotelli gives us that more direct, more powerful option and great depth at the 9. And if he flops... he'll still do better than Sanogo, Park and Bendnter combined

watched some puma promotional event with cesc, balotelli, and reus. it's easy to underestimate how imposing balotelli is physically, but seeing him in action up close he's quite a bloody specimen. 6'3, lean and mean. built for our league, really.

Remy, Lukaky, Boney etc. all have better numbers playing for worse teams over a year or two.

It's much of a muchness G89. In my opinion none of those four guys would take us up a level with the possible exception of Lukaku if he comes on, since he's so young and all.

Rémy - 24 (2) - 14G - 3A

Don't think Rémy's "lagging" behind.

Insane number of prem starts from Giroud btw, 36 games out of 38.

And the season before what did they all manage. Add Balo in there too since thats who we are talking about.

Over the last year or two Remy has scored and assisted less than the rest. He is lagging behind.

I think Bony could be very good next season too. He took a while to adapt in England but once he did he scored plenty of goals.

Giroud has had a decent season with a notable slump in form from January to April. Bit worried how he'll pull up next year endurance wise with the World Cup.

If he could sustain his best form he'd scrape twenty goals in our side.
