The games Balotelli has started he has done well. However, he is totally bat shit crazy.

I'd still take bat shit crazy over Giroud given the option between the two.

Bony over Balotelli?! Jaysus. I was all for Bony as a player to take a punt on last summer, but that would have been instead of Sanogo and Bendtner. Him to lead our line is a recipe for 4th.

Balotelli would be a dream. Haven't seen such composure and ability in front of goal from someone his age since Henry.

The second half of 2012/2013 season balotelli was fantastic,. If we could harness that we would have a great player, but there are huge risks involved.

There seems to be a sparse number of forwards who are available that we are going for. Balotelli has the biggest upside potential.

Balotelli at £30m is not a 'huge' risk for us.

I wouldn't consider it a huge risk, at least not financially. If it didn't work out we could always send him off for another go on the Italian club merry-go-round. He'd still have value.

It's not like we'd be worse off with Balotelli and Giroud than with just Giroud. Financially it isn't much of a risk for us either. Not saying we are in a position to just piss away £30m, but it isn't like we would suffer financially for years and years with such an investment not working out.

There's no doubting his ability, the only doubt is whether he will bother to turn up for the entire season. Similar risk as Ozil to be honest, but Balotelli has the added bonus of PL experience.

There is almost never a risk football wise when you buy a top player. How many top class players have flopped in the PL?

It is a huge risk due to his attitude and for 30m its dangerous.

But then again, I would rather splash 50m on him than spend nothing. Its a bigger risk spending nothing.

I think there have been a good few. Off the top of my head some of the biggest transfers of all time have been terrible signings. Veron, Shevchenko, Crespo, Torres... they all did less than players from Hull or Stoke would have with the same amount of chances.
