Wasn't it just minor stuff though Klaus?
We were all a bit stupid when we were 20.

I don't know to be honest. But I agree, you can't hold stuff like that against players forever. Good on him if he has decided to grow up and make something of himself.

I think you got this wrong Biggus.
We hardly ever played him our first team.
That was one of the reasons he left.
After seeing him compared to Agüero, I watched a couple of his match performance compilations on youtube and I really can't see it. Doesn't look to me like he's improved that much.
Touch and control miles behind the Argentine, not nearly as strong, still one sided as hell(worse than being one footed). Looks clumsy at times. Few moments of brilliance here and there, but that's not enough IMO.
He wouldn't cut it as a central striker in our system and if we're going for a wide forward, I'd much rather someone in Reus' mould.
Most forwards aren't as good as Aguero. No offence est but sounds like you had just written him off anyway considering your first post was he's not good enough and then after you checked some match compilations. He's a much different player than the one we saw here.
I was one of his biggest fans when he was still here!
Can't say I've watched too much Sociedad in the time Vela's been there, so I checked out his performances against the big boys in Spain, before coming to the conclusion that he doesn't look that much better than he did when he left us, ergo isn't good enough for us to go for him now.
Then, after seeing the praise in this thread, I wondered if I hadn't been harsh on him for judging him on his performances in the biggest games and went on to watch how he did against the smaller sides of the Spanish league. More space, scored a few good goals and put a couple on the plate for others, but the same general flaws in his game remain.
Big fan of him since he was here too. His potential was always there but we didn't give him enough chances.
Very much prefer Vela over Griezmann
Fair enough est. Think its a little harsh. I'm sure a match comp of Theo would have plenty of bad moments but he's in the side to make the difference with good runs, score and assist which he does very well. Same for Vela.
I'm not even expecting a wide player. Reckon we'll spend decent amounts on a striker and midfielder. But if a player like Vela is available for 4m then you shouldn't turn that down. One of the big problems in the squad is the lack of real alternatives to Ramsey and Theo. I think Vela would hel[ us out there big time.
I was a big fan of him when he was here. He's done very well in Spain but I'm not sure he's the type of player Arsene would bring back
To be fair he wouldn't have inserted the buy back clause if he didn't think he'd need it.
I was a big fan but his attitude stinks and I'm not convinced by his 'I've grown up' line.

I think he's still left off the Mexican team. He's not going to play for Mexico in the world cup.
The Mexican FA have been begging him to play for Mexico but he's refused.
In any event, how is that a bad thing for Arsenal?
It isn't. If anything, it makes the idea of re-signing him even more attractive - no international trips to the other side of the world to worry about.
Griezmann is the player to get from Sociedad.
Don't want either.

He is not left out, they are trying all they can to get their best player to the world cup.
He refuses though, he is still sore about being punished wrongly by their FA previously.
San Sebastien based journalist Oier Fano has claimed that we've informed Sociedad that we will activate Vela's release clause.
Not excited by the prospect of this happening, but seen very little of him in Spain.
He's been good, Tricks
