Watched a few videos after I saw this, looks like he's willing to use his right a bit more, and he's definitely more physical.
If he wants to return because he's ambitious and hungry for success at a big club, ok. If he's the not so committed lazy ass that he was when he was desperate to return to Spain, no thanks.
Still a party boy, not sure if he's really matured.
would prefer the other winger, more the type we need. Priority wise though we need a world class Striker & DM (and RB if Sags leaves). Would prefer to splash the cash on those and get Vela.
Still looks a bit tubby though, maybe its just his frame.

The 60 percent sell-on covers that
He's perfect as the backup option. Like Drmic, he is cheap and can play both wide and centre forward. And for all his problems here, we know he is an excellent finisher. That's something we need. Would be very stupid not to use this opportunity imo.
Hmm, I reckon if we got him it would be to alternate with Giroud. It could probably mean Giroud, Vela and Sanogo as our strikers next season. I don't think that's going to gain us an extra three places on the table unless one of them makes a big leap into the 20 plus range. How likely is that?
He's a good player but he's not the superstar striker we want. Wenger would probably end up playing him wide a lot.
The buy back is interesting though. Why add it if we weren't going to ever use it?
Because we can
But we didn't add them for many other players.
I reckon people at Arsenal were always big fans of Vela's potential and wanted the opportunity to buy him back if he came good. This seems like a good time to do it. We need strikers, it's difficult to find players like him, and he's just a short step away from being starting material now.

What does being a "party boy" mean?

Agreed.
Well he's just another of these guys who were played about 3 years too early in our 1st team and now some of them are ready we're trying to play catch up.
I think there were some genuine problems with his attitude. He was banned from Mexico for a long time too for misbehaving.
Think he'd be a good option both on the left and right wing. Still need a replacement for Giroud up front though.
even if they don't want vela back, waiving the clause has to be worth something in helping them land Griezmann.
14 goals and 12 assists in 34 matches. More than decent return imo. Griezman has, for instance, 16 goals and 4 assists in 32 matches.
With Walcott coming back from a big injury, Vela would be the type of guy who could compensate for that.
He actually has 19 goals this season (might include some penalties). 45 in his last 3. He's developed into a proper player. Would definitely take him back at that price. As Rayman says he'd be a really good Theo alternative.
