BBC confirming we passed on the chance to buy Vela back, and he has now signed a 4 year deal at Sociedad, pocketing us £12m in the process. Other news outlets close to Sociedad say there's also a 20% sell on clause and future incentives, too. We're quids in! Nice work Arsenal.

If that is the case and the fee is upfront then we sold 30% of Vela for £12, valuing him at £40mil. I'm not sure there is anything left in this deal for us.

So so far we're 15-20m up on the summer and currently ruling out all major rumours.

🙁

It's the Wenger way Burnsy

Can't remember the last time there was not even a single decent rumor about our transfer business.

Everything points to a trolly dash, if Wenger wakes up that is.

You're all doom 'n' gloom lately Dazza. Cynicism bit early this window?

I wouldn't include receivables from Vela and Fabregas in consideration of 'nett spend' for this season, at least for the purpose of this poll. In reality it gives Wenger more cash to play with, it's a nice bonus, but accrues from clauses added in player sales 3 years back. They weren't part of our squad last season.

That makes no sense, it is money generated this year through clauses we have with the player and respective clubs. Would you not count it is we paid £30m for fabregas or £5m for vela "because we had a clause with them"?
