Most but not all. Aguero came from Independiente.

We have been linked with this guy for so many Summers now that if he were to come ... it would feel like a let down.

Costa only had a Brazilian passport. Agüero was bought from Independiente and didn't have any caps for Argentina. Falcao only had a Columbian passport and he was loaned to them by a third-party investment company anyway, which isn't allowed in England. Only guys we could have signed on that list were Torres, who was their own product, and Forlan who had already flopped in Premier League and didn't want to go back there.

We were linked with Falcao before he moved to Porto for what it's worth but we couldn't get him.

We couldn't have bought Costa, but Aguero could have gotten a special talent permit, Falcao is a full colombian international so no problems there too.

Benzema is great for Madrid with Ronaldo and Bale coming from deep/wide to get into the box, but I wouldn't want hi, here. Not the striker we need for the type of system we play.

I think he's just had to adapt to that role though. He's played it for a while but I think he has more to his game.

Benzema would work well with Podolski and Walcott making runs in from wide.

I don't think anyone said that they didn't want him though.
No point in pretending to be blown away by the thought of Benzema leading our attack.

Benzema is a great striker. Much better than the likes of Balotelli, Lukaku, Mandzukic etc.

Compared to what we have and what is realistically available for us i am truly amazed that people would turn their nose up at him.

Maybe im biased though, always thought he would be fantastic for us, since his early days in Lyon.

If he is the main man in our team, he would easily score 20-30 goals in the league. Much higher ceiling than Diego Costa.

There are only a few forwards out there with a higher 'ceiling' than Benzema. That has never been his problem though.

Indeed, I loved him at Lyon, thought he was certain to be a superstar. But he's become too timid at Madrid.
