Nope. That's the way he normally plays for Madrid/France, and even at Lyon he showed a lot of creative play though he seemed a bit more explosive back then. When Benzema broke out, I honestly thought he'd become at least Henry-level, he was such a talent.
In any case, he's still a very good player, just not for this squad. We already have trouble with movement and opening up a defense as at is, and that isn't going to be helped much by Benzema also dropping deep and looking to play in runners. I would honestly prefer Lukaku who is more the type to run into channels and play in the box, with the added benefit of knowing the league.
