It was abundently, clearly obvious that Chelsea were going to go big for a striker this summer.
Doesn't massively bother me that they got, or will get, Costa.
It's not going to make them invulnerable or invincible.

They have the makings of a class team

--------------Cech
Azpili---Cahill---Terry---Shaw?
--------Ramires---Matic
Willian------Oscar-----Hazard
--------------Costa

I'm sure they'll get someone better than Ramires too.

City's still looks a lot better. Even ours will if we spend a similar amount on a centre mid and striker.

Rumour has it they are looking at Koke, Pogba (who would count as a homegrown player) & Paulinho. Koke I reckon would be the best for them. Very disciplined player, like Ramsey a true box to box player who can do everything. It will suit Mourinho as well because he likes to have 11 players on the pitch who will all defend when needed.

Plus a RB.

Chelsea have already spent well over £120m since Mourinho came in. They sold Mata and got good money for him but it partly cost them the title. Luiz will go, they'll get good money and they'll sign a striker. They still have plenty of holes in the squad though. Chelsea plus Costa doesn't really worry me. They might lose Hazard too.

It's deals like this Luiz one that make me wonder how any football fan can not despise these oil rich, crooked as fuck, thick as two short planks, no mark football clubs. It's utterly disgraceful and takes away any sense of fair competition. I don't care if people say that it's because I support Arsenal and they're exactly the club that 'suffers' the most - it's cheating, it's not right and I would be disgusted if it was Arsenal that were run that way. Cheating scum. And Chelsea can fuck off as well.

I've never understood that line of reasoning personally. It strikes me as a particularly excellent reason to be outraged.

They'll argue that it isn't the first time this has happened. In Italy they've had rich backers putting money in for years, Arsenal once had a lot of money pumped in. Clubs like R.Madrid & Barca have racked up huge debts but in a way are underwritten by local governments as they are seen as too important to fail. Also you can't say we haven't benefited from it having sold Adebayor, Toure, Nasri & Clichy for over £75m to City!

I don't actually disagree with you btw, we've had to do things the hard way but are ridiculed because it has cost us on the pitch. We've done things the right way, made sure we sorted out our income source before chasing after big signings. In the past 10 years the changes we have been through will keep this club competitive for a generation. You can't just rely on a rich owner to bail you out forever.

Weren't we the original moneybags team? Under the chairmanship of Sir Henry Norris.

It looks very likely that Dortmund will sign Serie A top scorer Ciro Immobile.

The player has made it known that he wants to play in CL and would prefer to play for Dortmund and today Klopp also made it clear that he wants the player.

The transfer fee would be around 20 million euros as per Italian media.

Are we even trying for Costa? Any tickles? Tasters? Feelers? Have we even considered talking to him?

Costa train has left the station.
In: Sanchez, Khedira, Aurier, Vela
Out: Sagna, Bendtner

I like Khedira because he is a leader. The Vela option is too good to pass up. Even if he flops after one season, we can still sell him at a profit

Khedira is just coming back from a bad injury; naturally he is not fully fit yet. He is a cracking player though, and at 27 he would be perfect for us.

Khedira is not a DM, he's a box to box CM.

Well that's perfect, because we need a B2B who can defend well the most to partner Ramsey.

Someone who sits, like Martinez or Schneiderlin would be better suited alongside Rambo IMO.
