lampard & eto'o have been released by chelsea.
Other clubs' transfer activity - Summer 2014
Lampard!? Wow, always thought he'd retire with them. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at everton.
United's midfield is in such bad shape that I think they should take him even as they continue their search for Fabregas, Kroos et al.
There's been a couple big name players which have been released from Premiership clubs:
Bendtner Nicklas
Albrighton Marc Kevin
Cole Ashley
Eto'o Fils Samuel
Lampard Frank James
Schwarzer Mark
Chamakh Marouane
Dikgacoi Kagisho
Speroni Julian Maria
Heitinga John Gijsbert Alan
Sidwell Steven James
Barry Gareth
Lescott Joleon Patrick
Pantilimon Costel Fane
Ferdinand Rio Gavin
Vidic Nemanja
Ameobi Foluwashola
Cuellar Jimenez Carlos Javier
Ustari Oscar
Gomes Heurelho Da Silva
Ridgewell Liam Matthew
From this list, the goalkeepers in particular could probably do a decent job for us, if Fabianski was to leave. Whilst other interesting names on the list are Barry and Lescott. But obviously, we should be aiming higher for these positions.
Fabregas and Ashley Cole back in one summer...
I would take Barry if the goal was to blow all our money on two strikers and a right back. He's still a very good player.
No more slow players.
PSG must have the worst negotiators in the world.
I wouldn't mind Schwarzer as a backup.
e: Pantilimon would be decent too.
Chamakh has also been released, I hope he goes back to France. Can't do it in England.

Hodor!!
And I thought Chelsea got mugged by buying Luiz for such an overpriced deal. 22m + Matic.
Now then make double the profit selling him for 50m. Ridiculous

He would be a really good pickup this summer. He's getting on a bit in years but he looked good for Chelsea this season.
Chelsea have just announced they've agreed a deal for Luiz to join PSG subject to medical & personal terms.
disgusting.
but credit to them. they have lots of assets they can sell.
So Chelsea have become a trophy less, selling club. Whilst we have become a trophy laden, buying club. Looks like we have switched positions.
What a joke.
Rumours going around in addition to a striker they want a box to box midfielder and probably a LB as well. They'll have their current CBs, Zouma and Ivanovic as CBs so well stocked up there.
Lukaku will fetch them around £25m as well. It is almost as if they planned this in advanced before FFP came in.....
i don't think they loaded up on all this talent with a view to selling. they'd prefer to keep this lot and bring in even more players. but just having top players in the first place will enable them to maneuver within the FFP constraints to bring the players they want.
They were linked to paulinho
Luke Shaw to Utd stalled according to Guardian. Looks like the boy has come to his senses and rejected them.
Wonder if it's because Chelsea have got in his ear now they have the mountain of cash from the Luiz to PSG deal?

It could well be, as it would mean they wouldn't have to buy a CB replacement for Luiz since Ivanovic could cover that position, with Azpilicueta moving to RB when needed. While it has also coincided with Evra signing a new contract at United.

Also, Shaw's a Chelsea fan, isn't he?
Costa plus Pogba
Wouldn't shock me to see them go for Pepe

I think we have a resident #ITK He also linked us to Martinez a few weeks ago!
Mourinho loves Varane, couldn't stop singing his praises when he was managing R.Madrid. Whether they will actually sell is another matter though!
Still can't believe that PSG are willing to pay that much for Luiz :o
With the Luiz + Lukaku money, Chelsea can probably afford Shaw, Mangala/Varane, and Costa with a zero net spend.
Add in some money for a CM and they're golden.
Media reporting that the Shaw deal has stalled as well as the Kroos one. Have heard some ridiculous stuff like they were Moyes signings and Van Gaal has pulled the plug on them. I swear the media just make this shit up as they go along. Man Utd in the past year have been leaking loads of stories to the media.
I am intrigued to see how many top signings they can pull off, no doubt they are willing to throw money at players. Because of their status players might feel the no CL thing might be temporary but will be interesting to see what they do.
50m? For David Luiz?
It's not even the fact that they're willing to pay 40/50m for a player of his quality, it's the fact that they're paying it for a player that isn't considered good enough to start for Chelsea ahead of the likes of Gary Cahill. A player that nobody in England rates particularly highly. A player Chelsea are happy to sell. How do you end up paying 50m for that?
When you have more money that sense.
Cahill is a top drawer centreback

(July 2013) Mourinho to Chelsea TV: "Ivanovic, Mata and Luiz are not leaving. We are not a selling club. We are not Arsenal."
One more to go!
And they're trophy less.

I won't be laughing when they get Costa in and well the prices they have squeezed out for both are ridiculous.
They've sold both of them for around £80m, they cost them almost £50m and they gave Matic apart of the Luiz deal (who they then bought back for £21m). So they haven't actually done that great out of it.
But yes I agree they'll do very good business out of these deals.
