Or that Wenger isn't going to aim higher. :o

I refuse to think that. It would be the mother of all pisstakes.

It might be a straight replacement for Podolski's end product, yeah. Wenger doesn't seem to trust him at all on the wing but can't play him anywhere else. I think we'll see a lot of Chamberlain and Wilshere on the wings next season, and I can't see them chip in with more than 10 league goals each under the best of circumstances, so we're going to need sharp players up front.

If Wenger stays I could definitely see him getting someone young like this who has some of what he wanted from Podolski but who he can mould more easily to fit his own plan.

He was right about both Lewandowski and Ramos (as he's modestly pointed out on more than one occasion, much to the chagrin of German journalists). I think he's right about this one too. There's so much about Drmic that just makes sense. It suggests that at least one of Giroud and Sanogo are out the door this summer though.

He also called the bellerin to Watford loan deal

I really hope we get this guy. Looks really talented

This despite the fact that goals are a lot harder to come by for Drmic at Nurnberg than they are if you play for Bayern or Dortmund.

This argument is slightly flawed though. It's not like Nurnberg have any other strikers who are stealing the limelight. It's a bit similar to Aston Villa and Benteke last season - impressive numbers for a striker, but the whole team is set up to play every ball through one guy up front.

yep agree entirely. this is the darren bent corollary to the kevin phillips effect.

it's why you can't just look at goals, you have to look at the player. obvious to anyone who isn't a moron.

We should get Firmino off Hoffenheim too.

Sanogo has to get competitive matches, IMO he'll be on loan next year.

We have totally wasted 1 year of his development. He have good potential to be a decent striker. Yep, need to go on loan next season ASAP

Sanogo has played plenty actually. Not our fault he was injured and couldn't play.

He looked like a scared boy at the start of the season now he looks like a man that's ready to dominate the opposition CB.

Talk of Dortmund being interested as well for him, hope this isn't just paper talk and we do get in a good prospect as well

Dortmund dont pay silly wages and we can top whatever they offer. The player is ours if we want him.

Nah, he needed 4 months to go away on his "intensive training" plan. Then the second half of the season for some coaching with the first team and few appearances. Decent season for him so far, a loan next season mightn't be a bad idea though.

He wasn't injured, we sent him for bulking up as confirmed by Wenger.

Well, it's still not our fault that he didn't have enough muscle mass to be a professional footballer.

he's still raw compared to giroud, but i'd be willing to have him take the donkey's place in the squad. the dropoff in overall quality isn't steep, and at least sanogo is getting better while giroud is only going to get worse. and it would make me a lot less angry not having to see giroud's face on matchdays ever again.

He is obviously not in the same universe, but from what I have seen he has a touch of Luis Suarez in his play. Quite a low centre of gravity, quick on the turn etc.

I like the look of him - he is pacey which is what we are crying out for.

Definitely worth a gamble - but can't be our only offensive addition. He is not good enough by himself to take us to the next level.

Seemed like get got injured for a couple of months but when he was no longer injured they kept him in Rehab longer to build up his strength so he could compete physically without injuring himself.

as if our physios know anything about treating and preventing muscle injuries!

Don't think it is that simple, Dortmund will still be a big step up for him. He'll get CL football and play in a familiar environment so that might appeal to him. He could always move on after developing more at Dortmund

Rumours on Bild that Leverkusen have made a bid for him as well. If we do want him I think we need to act quickly to wrap this one up
