Depends on how it ends. If there's some big battle like in The Lord of the Rings for example, they would need a movie budget. Several battles in GoT have been skipped because of the cost. I hope they would make it long, at least two and a half hours.

Thats fine if he dies or gives up or something but my point is he'll hardly want the tv show going ahead of his books. So there might be a new season every year until 2016 and then a looong time until 7 and same again for season 8. Unless he just tells the tv guys to fire ahead but that sounds unlikely to me.

Thats the only disappointing bit about the TV series.
Surely there are legions of fans who would love to do them as extras on a voluntary basis.

Its not going to get a massive movie budget though so it'd still look pretty drab. I think having it up on a big screen as a movie would only highlight that more.

I think it does. When it is a bit grainier the set looks less like a set, which is a good thing IMO.
