Arya is the best and most interesting character in the series for me.

High definition is, by definition, supposed to be grainier. Grain is detail. Film is grainy by nature so the better the resolution the more detail you'll have, and thus the more grain. Certain web streaming services might or might not remove some detail from the picture with smoothening filters though. It might have something to do with the screen you're watching it on too.

My tv is ace, man! Klaus getting all technical and shit too. I DL GoT, alright. Opted for torrents with the most seeders, and those are always small packages in low res. After I'd read the books though, I downloaded the first season again, but in 720 or 1080 this time. My point is, that in high def the set most of the time looks exactly like that - a set. In low res it actually looked better! More 'real' or what you want to call it. Or, as real as shit can be with dragons and direwolves I guess. 🙂

Those who argue most intensely about audiovisual quality often have incredibly bad taste to go along with it.

Remember a guy bragging to me about his $20,000 speakers about a decade ago—nice setup, but he only ever used them to listen to Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Williams. :o

Wasn't blown away by the first episode, but the storylines coming up this season are so damn good. Next episode will be a good one.

I opted for getting it down fast then, mind. The high res torrents are usually a day or so later, and they generally have quite a few less seeders.

Pretty sure he isn't talking about paying here. I know a few, but I think TPB is by far the best I know of.

Actually they're not. I always download it in high red at TPB maximum an hour after airing. Because of the time difference, I download it, go to bed and watch it every Monday when I get up.

Most illegal torrent sites offer better speed and quality than the various web streaming services that have been popping up, is the sad truth.

HBO have a pretty decent web service otherwise. It used to be ridden with technical problems but they've solved most of them. It's called HBO Go in the states and HBO Nordic over here. Not sure if they have a similar setup for Australia yet.

I usually use TPB when I need something quick, but it falls short on lots of stuff. If you know of a superior invite-only site maybe PM us invites (should you have any)?

What I'd really like access to is a site that has complete high quality rips of the entire Criterion and Janus back catalogues 😉
