That is another thing they changed from the books; Jojen never dies in the books. In fact, except for Bran ending up at that place, there really hasn't been a single thing this season with his story line which correlates with how things play out in the book.
The sword fight between Brienne and the Hound was a good change though. Not nearly as much fun in the books where the Hound dies from infection in the wound which he refuses to have Arya tend to. 🙂
I disagree Rex, I thought the swordfight which was started over a misunderstanding was stupid and pointless.
In the book as you say he died from infection, the once huge powerful fighter was ultimately defeated by his fear and tiny bacteria, the irony was brilliant and I thought they were working up to it in the previous episode when the hound was getting sicker and weaker and more pathetic and powerless, this highlighted how unfeeling and ruthless Arya had become refusing to give him "the gift of mercy".
Brienne of course never meet him and Arya but they find his grave (he was buried by kindly monks) they said he that "at last this poor tortured soul had found peace in death that he never could in life".
That was the best way to end that storyline.
