Because we need a lot of players and have backup that isn't good enough?
I accept Remy has flaws to his game which is why he would cost £8m but he certainly isn't as bad as you're making it out. I'd use him more out wide than the middle so he won't need to play with his back to goal there. You need a good squad to win trophies and right now we have no depth and no pace apart from Theo.
As for Sanchez, not sure if Barca will let him go but a very good player. We need three players for our front three. A top class striker and LW but another striker who must be quick and can do the job out wide. Not that fussed about Remy, even someone like Drmic looks a good prospect for that third position. Someone under £10m so we can focus on spending more where we need it. I'd go as far saying someone younger is probably better so at least you know he will improve whereas with Remy what you see is what you get, he probably isn't going to get much better now.
Personally I don't think we lack numbers, it is quality that we lack. Adding someone like Remy isn't going to improve the quality of the squad.
Not only is he poor with his back to goal, he can easily be neutralised out wide if the space is reduced.
I agree with you we need 3 players upfront, but it's important we bring in players with almost everything in their game (pace, good close control, vision etc). No pace merchants.
I think Barca would sell Sanchez if we are ready to spend big. Been reading rumours all season they'll sell him and Alves in the summer. But if we can't get him it's up to our scouts to identify other players with those qualities and bring them in.
I'd rather take a punt on a loose cannon like Morrison (a potential 30m footballer) than bring in a limited footballer like Remy.
