Henry was playing as a winger and came in at 21. And not everybody is Henry. In fact more often than not they aren't.

So you are suggesting we spend 20m on a back-up player when he's shown nothing to suggest he's either a prolific player or will ever be one? Spending our second highest ever transfer fee on a less than 1 in 4 league scorer. A striker who's never hit double digits in league football. And what makes you think United are exactly going to sell him and even if they to to us or if he'd even want to go from one bench to another?

You constantly dodge my questions

Welbeck has played out wide or in deeper positions for most of his career (including his time at Sunderland). There are so many other strikers who were not prolific at an early age.

But I give up Gunner89, let's agree to disagree.

My main point is, I'm against pace merchants coming in no matter how amazing their goal scoring record is. I prefer good all round footballers.

An England international playing for a big club and a rival. Overpriced yes but that's most England players are.

I'd take Welbeck over Remy as well as a back up striker. I have always liked his dynamism, pace, movement, aerial threat, hold up play, and versatility. IMO Welbeck is a lot better than the oaf that we have and, as Tactics points out, his finishing has improved quite a bit this season. He looks a lot calmer and more composed these days.

I think Barca would sell Sanchez if we are ready to spend big. Been reading rumours all season they'll sell him and Alves in the summer. But if we can't get him it's up to our scouts to identify other players with those qualities and bring them in.

I'd rather take a punt on a loose cannon like Morrison (a potential 30m footballer) than bring in a limited footballer like Remy.

I agree, one of my gripes with someone like Walcott was his close control and general dribbling in tight spaces was poor. Problem is for the 3rd player if we want someone cheap we have to accept some limitations or we have to take a punt on someone cheap and unproven. If a striker costs us £30m and a LW costs us £25m it doesn't leave us much more to spend there. We need a DM and will probably need a CB and RB as well this summer. I'd love to see the manager go big in the summer and sort all the issues out but I wouldn't hold my breath on that!

As for Morrison, hell no to him. He's not going to his act sorted now and don't want to waste time and effort on him

Wellbeck looks great some days but other times he looks like a clumsy mess. Its hard to know if he'll step it up in the next year or 2. I'm not even sure a run of games is the answer because he had a run this season where he did ok and then his form just went to shit. Maybe a bit too streaky and inconsistent for our ambitions.

Welbeck is Manc through and through. He is getting playing time there. RvP is on his last legs. Why the hell would he ever consider leaving? Why the hell would we need an overpriced player with a poor scoring record?

I would take Remy, not as a first choice ofcourse. He would do damage in our setup though. Has the movement and pace for it. Our midfielders would pick him out time and time again and he can finish well enough to get decent numbers.
