He's basically Giroud only right footed and Croatian. With Sanogo at the club as well, he's just not what we need.
Mario Mandzukic
Not a lot of alternatives. We have too many needs to spend all our money on Cavani. If we get Mandzukic I'll be thrilled honestly, I don't really know who a better option is. Not a lot of noise yet on this though.

He's basically Giroud except better in pretty much every area, particularly when it comes to finishing and runs in behind. Also that last sentence is exactly why we do need Mandzukic!
Don't want

& he scores in big games.
Wenger isn't about to start playing a 5'5 player up front in the EPL.
Any CF we are buying has to be up to the physical side of the game. Mario can do that, and although he isn't different to Giroud he is better in every area that Olivier is weak in (better finisher, reliable first touch, better pace).
Can he do the Giroud flick?
I won't be too enthused about him. I don't feel he is that much better than Giroud.

Then sell Giroud and sign him. Can't have all these big target man types, it's little bit overkill.
Red herring! We aint signing a lazy forward with attitude problems who isnt a big upgrade on Giroud. Mandzukic will end up in a lower calibre club than Bayern or Arsenal.
Mandzukic isn't lazy. He's getting a very raw deal on here. Would have thought replacing Giroud would have been the most important thing this summer yet people are turning their noses up at the best replacement available.
@[deleted]. Would be nice to have a different option sure (although worth pointing out Mandzukic does things Giroud can't) but i'd keep Giroud as back up for a season.

Yeah but we knew we weren't in for Balotelli a fortnight ago.
dont want. and he's 28 and likely won't have resale value. we have to do better.

Yes he is. Been reported on several occasions he is not exactly a model proffessional in training.
If you have seen Mandzukic play in actual games, then the suggestion of him being lazy is ludicrous. Fwiw, it isn't exactly a new thing that players Guardiola wants rid of are badmouthed.
I wasnt referring to his behaviour on the pitch and it goes further back than Guardiolas reign in Bayern.
He's more intimidating than Giroud too , i dont think anyone feels threatened by Olly G when matched up against him.
I wouldn't mind if we settle for Mandzukic. Though there's a few we should be trying for first.
Shit, Henry was lazy in training (self admitted).....

Such as?
