beIN Sport now reporting we're signing Draxler.
Julian Draxler
Did Wenger look like The Mask during the post-match interview today?
Some sort of tennisshow going on..what you saying
AgentJim reported the same thing earlier in the day for what it's worth.

If we do bring in Draxler now, I wonder what it means for any prospective summer striker signings.
Haven't jumped that far ahead in my wondering yet.
Guess it depends on whether or not Wenger's got conversion in mind for Draxler.
I'm thinking as if we've signed him already, got to rein that in

Hope it doesn't stop us from signing one. Draxler is years away from being a 40m pound footballer.
"Draxler? Honestly, no. That is again an illusion. We have no need to take players on the flank."
> Wenger was asked about Draxler yesterday and started grinning that grin. On other transfers this January, they are now a plumb destination for talent.
Posted by someone at Glory-Glory last week. Wenger's trolling is slowly eating away at them.

He said that?
Hmm, the troll face was him just thinking the interviewer was an idiot then.
Today's 2 interviews pretty much seal it for me. The troll faces are out of context bollocks, he didn't even seem keen on the idea of Draxler.
Too bad.

Anyone analysing Arsenal's strengths and weaknesses would come to this same conclusion.
We need a striker, RB and DM more urgently than him.
We need a striker more than Draxler.

Who ?
so wenger wasn't in spain either?
@Grimandi. Anyone not called Bendtner or Chamakh would do, even Park.

Me too.
That again is an illusion. There is nothing happening, honestly no. We have no need on the flanks, we have Chamberlain coming back, we have many players on the flanks. Honestly, I told you in the last press conference, we don't rule it out but at the moment I cannot announce anything to you.
wengers full quote. feels like theres something going on.
isnt draxler out until march?
there's too much about arsenal and draxler from decent sources for it to be just smoke and no fire.
Is Draxler any better than last years Ox? Just trying to gauge his level since I've never seen him play.
thinking about it, maybe we're negotiating for the summer like we did with podolski and that's why wenger denied the draxler rumors so empahtically
Best comp I've seen
Get it done Arsene.
Lads only going to get better as he matures

Trust the Sun
I agree though, pretty much every paper's carrying the story.
I like how they're running with the he's desperate to join us angle.

Comp is fine, but I can't believe Green Day agreed to have their song butchered like that. Shocking.
I get the RVP comparisons having watched that, similar in his body shape when he's dribbling and shooting, masters the ball.
I haven't seen enough of Draxler to know myself.. But I see some of you say that the media saying Wenger will turn him into a striker is bullshit. Why? What qualities do he lack that a striker needs?
Do tell, please.

Physically strong with good balance, hold the ball up well, brings players into the game. He can also run with the ball and has a good conversion rate.
Draxler is wasted on the wing and schalke have been poor this season, i think one of the key reason for him wanting to come here is wenger's plan to convert him into an Van persie-esque complete forward. Germany lack a really top notch CF and that is what he could develop into here, as apposed to playing a bit role on the wing.

As I said, I haven't seen enough myself. But I do think that the YouTube compilations of him might as well could be of a young RvP. But since some of those who watch him more say that isn't happening, I'd like to know why.
He wants to play number 10 and it's his best position.
Draxler is an midfielder who attacks, Persie was always a striker who played wide.
True that Capi, but Wenger turned Fabregas from a midfielder to a forward. Sort of. Either way, if Wenger truly IS interested, then his plan for Draxler can't be at number 10.

draxler is better than chamberlain.
